McMan,
Would a thin layer of straight vermiculite be ok? These kits are not supposed to require any casing layer. I have been having contam problems with 50/50 so I want to avoid that as much as possible.

Thanks for the help Ryche and McMan, problem solved.
A couple daps with some paper towels and already looks better.
McMan, for future reference, whats a good site that sells the coco husk your referring to?
Do you use this the same as any casing material, a moist layer on top and bottom of the husk?
I appreciate the responses, hopefully I'll be back with an update with pics of the DB kit.
