LOL... yeah... mother would love one of those. At least with some gourmet mushrooms.
I used to order the oyster mushroom kits from www.fungi.com and send them to various family members for presents and they loved them. The kids especially loved the Bonsai Reishi Mushroom Mycosphere.

Midway, no isolated strain. We use the same spores from the spore syringes we sell. That is how we test them, put them on grain so we can see exactly what the customer is going to see. So these are started from multi-spore inoculation.

The Spore Vendors forum is supposed to be for the Spore Vendors. They should be able to talk about what ever they want there. It's their forum. That includes trip to Alaska and trips to peyote heaven.

And spam. All the spam you want, thats the Spore Vendors forum.

When all this was discussed a month ago about the spore vendor forum, it was NOT just for spore vendors, but for everyone. Feedback from shroomery members as well. As for spore vendors, it was agreed any "spam" would go into that forum.

Take a look at my Gulf Coast thread and Thailand Pink Buffalo thread. NOw those are "spam" if you will.
Sharing pics and talking about a new product, spores etc...of new strains.
It was also agreed that spore vendors could post their cultivation pics here if they were not "spammed".
Thor told me to police myself, and that is what I have done. I left the spam out of those pics and shared some cultivation pics of koh samui's.

Their is nothing new about the Thailand Koh Samui strain... these are just new pics ... CULTIVATED... for the Cultivation forum. Enjoy :)

Kosmic_Charlie ... the Lipa Yai do just as well on compost. They actually grow much bigger then the koh samui, just not as fast.

Again the difference between what you cultivate as a vendor and what a grower cultivates as a hobby.

A novice takes on the cultivation as a journey, the end result being the sampling of their goods and the joy of growing them. Even an experienced grower still enjoys growing out strains or experimenting with new methods. They take pictures to share the joy of their new hobby or even the new strain they are growing, they share information helpful to someone growing in similar conditions. This could be simplified as Cultivation of Mushrooms for fun to share with the 'community'.

A vendor grows as a method of production. That product being the spores, yes the fruitbodies are used in various ways by each vendor but the primary goal is the production of more product, Spores. Any vendor with a digital camera and a minimal ammount of web-savvy will always have pictures of their production method that they can deluge the community with. And a simple way of saying this would be Cultivation Mushrooms to make profit from the 'community'.

Cultivation for Fun vs Cultivation for Profit
or mabye even...
Hobby Growing vs Commercial Production

I have no problem with a vendor breaking down detailed methodology of their system, pictures of each thing they do as they go about Mushroom Cultivation but once that method has been described and nothing new is contributed outside of "hey look at what just rolled off my mushroom assembly line" then they no longer belong in the mushroom cultivation forum.

This is a variety of spam and you are getting away with it, must have something to do with the banner at the top of the page huh?

I'll stay off of ryche's back forever as long as he follows through with his promise for revealing the compost recipe. Smart move on the ad Ryche, looks good, should be very effective. Very nice pics, look like my portabella's. What happened to everyone that bought the DB kit????? I wanted to hear a trip report, has anyone besides holy diver(sure I spelled it wrong) fruited them, I'd like to hear if someone let them get that big and sampled the quality!!!!!!

Arghhh, the constant bickering..... Ok, Ryche's post is in my opinion fine, because its pictures of cultivation... I don't care if its from a commercial operation or a newbie... I enjoy seeing these kick ass pics and I think many here do as well..... His post contains one thing that maybe considered spam and thats the link to the strain, but even so its damn minor.....

Its amazing how you people are picking out anything wrong with posts, why in god's name can't we just relax a little, enjoy the pretty pictures and not get our panties all in a bunch...

I feel this post is acceptable, it doesn't shout spam to me, but if you go searching for it like some do then yes, I'm sure you can find something to bitch about.

Its obvious we can't all agree ever on anything, its amazing to me how damn serious some of you take this stuff.... I mean do we want a strict nazi like control over forums??? I don't want that, something in the middle between nazi'ism and anarchy is what I would like to see....

Its amazing how everybody is so innocent, its always the other guy who's at fault... But nobody seems to realize that all this negetivity is spreading... I can't get over the emails and messages I get, I can now understand why Aphex got so frustrated when he did the change over... My god people, please can't we try to live together in some sense of harmony.. We don't have to love one another, but do we have to jump at every oppertunity to scream foul??!? ...

I'm going to bed now, I'm sure that my mailbox will be full of emails saying that Ryche has bought me off, that the ad is some conspiracy, bla bla bla.....

Soon there will be elections, there will be a way to take polls without cheating, then we can let the community decide, thats afterall what I want... I don't want a vocal and hostile minority deciding how things are to be here, I want the silent and probably bewildered masses to have their say...

Thor I personally really enjoy the pics. A pic is worth a thousand. I can learn a lot by looking at and analyzing what I see in pics. As long as Hawk will respond to the questions posted about his pics it is educational and not spam. Be patient my friend, it is human nature to f*** things up.

Spores are legal in every state but California and Georgia, weed is illegal in every state, except for a few for medicinal purposes, Mushrooms are a 2nd degree felony (any amount) in every state, except I think in florida, you can have fresh in small qty's. 1 shroom is possession of controlled substance which is same charge as cocaine(under 1oz)/acid(any qty)/and other "hard drugs".

wow, I had completely forgotten how risky all this is. I had been taking this for granted, growing under the false sense of security that if its natural, I'll do/grow it. But I agree, we shouldn't have vendors or members posting LOTS of pics. we are risking our asses, and everyone else who takes this forum seriously. But then again, the D.E.A, or anyone with half a mind knows spores come from the mushroom, so why aren't they after the american vendors? hmm, maybe they're after meth labs and stuff. I just hope the Methamphetamine Anti-proliferation Act never passes. type that one up in your search engine, if that passes, everything this forum is about would become illegal.

Thank you, for opening my eyes to this. I'd hate to see the D.E.A. break down anyone's door. No one deserves that, exept maybe Jamison Shultz. We have a beautiful little sub-culture here, and I'd hate to see any of it get destroyed, by the feds or mass exploitation by corporations, who suddenly think that this is cool. (sorry I watch a special on marketing sub-cultures)

As I recall, the Spore Vendor forum was supposed to be the designated place for billboard pics of vendors products.

But the real problem is MCMAN. When are the mods going to relieve this idiot of the mod prvielges he never earned in the first place? In the last couple hours TWO of my posts to this very thread have been deleted. People are expressing thier opinions here and when I express mine, it dissapears and there is one of mcmans 1000 woird essays instead. Who does he think he is now, our mother?

In the past few weeks, there have been threads locked, moved, unlocked, relocked, trashed and disrupted by mcmans antics. This has usually been followed by an 'apology', as if that makes everything better. I've seen it at least a dozen times this month.

A moderator should just moderate from the background, they are not mr. answer man, a dictator, a common troll or an inside mole biasedly working on behalf of certain vendors.

This is not a bunch of bullshit I am just making up to make somebody look bad, they've done that on their own.

Lets see how long this one lasts before mcman deletes it it is replied in flame.

Frightening, I agree with you again McMan. Most of the purchasers of spores and the 'community' here take a great deal of comfort in the fact that spores themselves are legal.

As long as they did it within the statute of limitations of the initial charge I am sure they could get all sorts of conspiracy charges and a lot of other busts. Imagine the headlines...international drug ring busted....

T3's point on bandwidth is, what I think, an excellent point. Along with several others that came out in this thread.

Seems to me that this is all acedemic in that whoever does pay for this bandwidth has EVERY right to be a 'dictator'. And every right to choose his moderators by ANY criteria he chooses.

That's why I like being a landlord instead of a renter. I make the rules, change the rules in the middle of the game, and If my rules are not followed, I simply evict the offender. There is no negotiation. The house is mine, I bought it, I paid for it, and I will/will not rent to whomever I choose for whatever reason.

If we all want to make the rules, then we should all run (and pay for) our OWN board.

I made my flaming mistakes, apologized, and am thankful that I'm still allowed access to this board and all the information that many people much smarter than I are willing to share. And I'm willing to subject myself to the discipline of the domain owner because I very much appreciate the fact that I don't run the board.

I first suspected TheTruth a while back, the post in the Closet Cultivator made me certain... So I told 3D, he looked through all the posts by TheTruth and he agreed.....

But thats not enough, I wanted to be sure before saying anything... So basicly 3D checked the username TheTruth for the sign up email address, the one not shown to the public... 3D then took the password from Captain Max's nick name and used it as the password to login to the email account for TheTruth... Lo and behold, it worked! So the same password that Captain Max uses for his username here, works as well for the email server that "TheTruth" uses.... Sorry, but thats undeniable proof Max, you can't call me a liar anymore...

So obviously its you Max, the odds of it being a coincidence is like 1 billion to one... You act like we are being unfair to you, or attacking you.... Well its more like you pushed us too far, your continous emails and private messages telling us how to run this place and of course all your insults and accusations to us......

no offence mcman, but i was looking for a second opinion on the legal question of ads in cult rather than vendor forum, not a reiteration of beliefs...

also, from what you've written, the danger to the shroomery should be as large if unwisely formulated products are advertised in vendor forum or in cult forum.

on the separate issue of member security...of course we aren't 'protected' by the board if we post self-incriminating evidence. but how large are the risks? the fbi isn't likely to track you down and achieve getting a search warrant for your premises based on you (possibly untruthfully) claiming to once have grown on a forum.
conversely, if they really wanted to fuck you, they most certainly wouldn't be deterred by you using the "foafs pet chihuahua" trick when posting! that trick is more of a safety blanket, and probably only leads to a false sense of security.

in all likelyhood, the ones that should be worried are the spore vendors, since they are the proverbial bigger fish to fry...

people should understand that everything they do contains some measure of risk. the wise person evaluates and weighs these risks against the associated benefits.
