Anyone ever think that english language was a trap?
    #2844129 -

and that we should be using the minds eye instead? like using telepathy and other forms of communication like showing people things and sharing.

I think the english language does limit us somewhat in our communications..but I also think we already do integrate the use our "minds eye" in our expressions..through our arts, for example.

Swami of course on a message board you can only read the writing. What i meant by it was use a common language of sharing and showing, without verbal language. Try that for a day.

Swami still has a barrier of testing people's ideas when they don't fit right in his mind. Hopefully hell get over that. ^_^

Yes, I think it would be a great thing. Humanity would have to grow quite a bit before that happens though. Methinks it won't happen anytime soon.

People who report NDEs consistently state that communication in the spiritual realm is done through telepathy. You can't hide anything there and there is no miscommunication. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

funny how you wrote "english language" and not simply "language". hello people, it isn't the only language out there! i'm just disapointed now, cuz i thought someone started a post on the psychological effects of the actual english language...oh well

my friend talks about Pre-Verbal as the nature of the experience.

personally I find it more numinous that words can convey, but still I keep trying.

we are talking about entheogen induced states, right?

as far as languages go, english has by far the largest vocabulary......what other language has over 400 names for the condom?
hence it is currently the best we have for communication and describing our surroundings.

a lot of our communication is thru body language, some texts claim up to 60% (tho how did they work that out, i wonder). of course this doesn't work on the net, where we had to adjust ourselves to suit.

as for telepathy....the technology for chip implants that can interface with the optical nerves, sensors in the voicebox, etc is not so far away. probably not as spontaneous and beautiful as you would hope, but these are the limitations of residing in meat.
even then, we will still have miscommunication - 'were you being sarcastic?''what did u call me?' 'what do you mean -not bad?'

Wouldn't body language be our universal language? Like back to the basic of things, where we show not tell.

Mathematics might make a good candidate for a kind of universal language

But yes I think I would agree with you..cant beat body language and/or primal screaming as basic modes of communicating

I think the internet is one more step closer to global conscious telepathy/unity..
We are still limited by words and language, but we can also share pictures, music, and a wide variety of mediums to convey a message or relay information.. connect with someone on the other side of the world instantly. This world wide web imo brings us closer to the realization of global unity, where telepathy thrives.
The english language may be a lot of things. It is certainly diverse, but is easily misused and misinterpretated. I think the idea is to master language, (by understanding it) and progress to more 'advanced' and universal forms of communication, such as telepathy.
Body language is the primal cousin of telepathy.. as the body represents the unconscious and subconscious mind, it is one way of communicating without words. Telepathy itself may take place between the actual souls of two or more entities.. a sort of subconscious voice of the soul that moves from mind to mind.. conveying images, feelings, memories, music, anything that can be thought can be communicated in complete clarity.. to the subconscious that is. Most egos will reject and ignore these subconscious subtleties as they often interfere with one's comfortable sense of reality, which ego guards closely.

Using telepathy? Thats not objective enough to communicate. I might think "Pick up the table-spoon and bring it to me please" and the other person may look straight at you and think your commenting on the weather.

Not neccesarily a trap but more like a mind barrier.

Yea, the english language is VERY limiting.

In fact, all verbal and written languages are limiting, just like our senses are limiting.

Language is the same as government. We have to take steps......and we can always improve.

Telepathy would be the only way to not limit yourself in communication really, but we havent gotten there yet.
