Depends on what you call fail.  He's been pretty good at getting people to send a billionaire lots of money and his kids did pretty good.  His rich friends did ok with the 2 trillion they took from the American government economy and gave to the richest.  You would have to give it to him that personally trump did pretty good.  The country? Trumps last year in had us in free fall and Biden has did pretty good countering the direction that some of the pressures trumps economic policies were heading us in.  This is with an added russian problem and pandemic supply issues.  This was as well with just the very slimmest of majority in congress and senate. 
Trump was confusing the people on reality while he was in and has not stopped while he was out.
