Albino PE Grow What is wrong?

I started a shoebox with Albino PE spores and they look to be contaminated, I think. Anyone have any ideas of what might be happening?

What was the process up to this point? What did you do before you spawned to bulk?

PE's love to blob, did you put down a thick compacted 1-2 inch top layer?

That being said those blobs look super weird...

Yeah I’m not really sure what I’m looking at either honestly. It doesn’t look like normal blobs. I do see some normal blobs but that…idk

I set up 5 different shoe boxes all identical to each other following this tek word for word

3 of the 5 boxes I used GT spores and i've had wonderful results and a decent first flush. The 2 PE boxes look like this for some reason. This is 28 days after assembling the boxes

Did you do a thick compressed top layer?

I did a covering top layer like the tek recommends and tamped down gently with a jar. Just enough to cover all the grain

My vote is PE blobs + bacteria causing the excess metabolites. :shrug:

Makes sense, just for my own notes, if your spawn is bacteria, can it cause your mycelium to produce blobs? :takingnotes:

Just let them go, theyre safe to eat if bacterial, blobs are fine, just look bonkers. If you see trich or mold then id throw it out

Ok so I’m confused. Did you do spores to grain or brf first or did you do spores straight to the shoebox?

Not sure to be honest. The oozing metabolites is the big give away. PE has been known to just blob in general if you don't get the top layer right.

I did spores to agar to grain jars. Agar dishes looked clean during transfer just these 2 boxes appear to have this weird issue.
