The pin set looks great but the fruiting bodies are not growing more that an inch or two max.





I'm growing mexicana (Cubensis) in a 60 qt monotube with 6 holes with micropore. I used 3 pound of fully colonized rye grain mixed with CVG (650gr coir, 1 cup gypsum, 2 liter verm, 4 liter of boiling water)
Started from a friend's print who's not having this issue.

I've seen post for the last 3 days but can't find anyone having the same problem. I read lack of moist but it can't be as the substrate had perfect field capacity and i mist it every day as the inside walls of the tub gets dry.
I control the temp with a electric fan that is working with a thermostat set at 22c°
This is not my first tub. Nor second. But it's the first time with Mex. I used to inoculate B+ with amazing results. The difference is that i change the location of my grow.

I did changed the Coco coir brand and bought a cheap 5kg block that was pretty nasty with tiny stones and herbs. This may result in having extra moist as it had i would say 10 percent of the content that wasn't coco. So yeah maybe it was over hydrated.
And the genetics is coming from a friend's print that he got in the first flush of a comercial grow kit.
It's happening the same in my 5 monotubs
And what do you think about the pic with the yellowish/brownish decoloration ??

When you say, started rom a friends agar, how did you transfer it?
He may have better sterile technique than you. Got say photos of the spawn before it went in?
99.99% of the time, its unclean spawn. Go back over your sterile technique.

Yeah the spawn had extra metabolites in it. More than usual actually.

I started from a friend's print. I made my own syringes and inoculated as usual. I know that spore syringe aren't the best to prevent contam, but I just moved forward as i had to start asap.
Mmm don't have photos of the bags...

I'm thinking that some bacterial action plus extra hydrated substrate could have been the problem
