Possible fruit-body contaminate?
    #578336 - 03/14/02 12:05 AM (22 years, 10 months ago)

Are there any fruit contams that include: dark green color under cap, light green (sort of) stripes going down the stem....they're closer to the color of the stem than they are green. there is a bulbous formation near the cap..wish I had a digital camera. This fruit comes from the same cake that produced ALL healthy fruits ...just wondering if this one would be good/bad to eat. Thanks

What kind of condition is the cake in now? Is it turning ugly on you? Either way I wouldn't eat! Some would, but I wouldn't.
GoodLuck!

Well, the cake itself doesn't have any unusual smells, correct?

It should be ok. It could be a bacterial infection, however most are ok to still eat once dried. Ive had problems in the past with bacteria, from what Ive heard its completely safe to still eat. There is a type of bacteria which causes blindness however, and im sure you dont want that one. Maybe someone could help you further.

What risks are you willing to take? Would you eat a steak or a loaf of bread that had green stripes on it?

I don't understand why there are so many "Should I eat it anyway" questions.

When in doubt... chuck it out!!!
