Tiny Fruits
    #773714 -

I have a casing of TX and the fruits are pretty tiny...almost cartoonish. The largest in the casing is about two inches tall from the base to the top and the veil is already forming, but the cap hasn't started to open yet.

I've heard TX fruits were small to medium in size, but is this normal?

Is there a lot of them? Wait for the veil to tare. They still may have a lot more growing to do. But sometimes it happens that way a lot of little ones or fewer big ones.Latter flushes have fewer but bigger fruits. Also available nutrients play a role in size. How deep is your substrate?

The substrate is about 1 inch thick throughout with a 1/4 inch verm casing. The temp is kept at a constant 78F but I have no reading for humidity...but from the looks of the bin, its right around 100%.

This is a funny strain. It gets off to a real great start in each stage, but slows down considerably soon after. I had a 1/2 colonized pint jar in about a week, but to finish the jar it too almost another 5 weeks.

Same thing with fruiting, saw lots of pins, most have grown to around a 1/2 inch but not much after that.

Moe you suck.

Damn Tripmeister, That was HARSH lol's
I usually make my substrate depth about 2 inches or better with about a 1/2 in. of casing. I can't say i've grown some monsters but I get some really thick flushes of decent size shrooms.
As far as colonizing. are you incubating at 82-86dgr. are you taping the holes shut?(i don't) Are you using 1/2 pint wide mouths? I've had jars stalling out (i think)
from taping the holes shut and trying to use pints jars W/brf&verm

If your using pint jars with brf&verm,That's probably why the slow colonization
use 1/2 pint wide mouths or even regular 1/2 pint jars. Save the pints for bird seed or grain

I am not for sure, but I think that too much Humidity will make the shrooms stay small. My dogs first batch never got that big, the only got to about 1.5 to 2 inches tall and the caps were only about the size of a half dollar , some a little bigger. But a few of them matured when they were tiny, like you said. I mean real small, like the cap was the size of a penny.

Mind you that this entire time my dogs Fruiting COntainer was constantly at 99% humidity. It stayed that way the entire fruiting cycle. So I think High RH is the problem!

Higher humidity will promote fat-asses.
You probably find there's either not enough nutrients, water or O2.

Soo many factors.
