Several reasons:

1. I never buy First generation fledgling technology.
2. Why buy 64-bit when all the programs are in 32-bit? (and will remain so for a while).
3. AMD's run too hot.

Lian Li V1000B... it's just so beautiful.

Actually, Suffer, aren't you getting that case? (well the V2000(B), server case)

B just means "black." There are silver versions out there but I like the black ones better.

V2000B, V1000B respectively.

Lian-Li makes the best quality cases, hands down.

That's why the midtower runs $200+, the full tower $250+.

never seen the point of modding my case to look nice, maybe for preformace. but it usually boils down to some bad things. ego materialism and showing off. this isnt to insult any of these great cases

The very essence of modding just about anything that doesn't boost performance is for its superficial values, whether it is to impress yourself, or to impress others.

There is nothing wrong with feeding the [starving] ego, as long as it doesn't harm others.

I got a Pentium 4 1.6 gHz

512 MB RAMBUS RAM
40 gig maxtor ATA 100 HD
Albatron nvidia geforce5700fx
SB Audigy Platinum 2ZS soundcard (w/drive bay)
Creative 16x DVD
Yamaha lightspeed CD burner (20,10,40)
Dlink ethernet card
19" Sylvania CRT monitor

...and just a plain ol grey case with an extra fan

I built this system in Nov of '01 for around $1200

but it originally had a geforce 4600 and a soundblaster live! platinum.  Also I just got a midiman Oxygen8 midi controller keyboard :evil:

I want to build a new system soon...

I put my system together myself, and it has;
AMD Athlon XP +1900 (1.6 Ghz)
Elite Mainboard K73VTA3 mobo with the Award KT333 chipset (a sweet combo with the AMD! :laugh:) With an onboard RAID controller and USB hub.
Maxtor 93073H4 30 Gig HD ( a bit small, but meh, it does it for me.)
512Mb PC333 DDR RAM
Soundblaster Live! Platinum sound card
Matrox Millenium G400 Dualhead - I have a Chaintec Vidcard with the NVidia Ti4400 chipset, but the heat sink is fuxxored and I need to replace it.
Panasonic OEM 50X CD-Rom
HP 9300 CD-writer.
Oh yes, and a MAG Innovision 786FD 17" monitor! :laugh:

i know dude... but im also waiting on 2 other vendors to send shit out. Hopefully in the next week I will have everything to build the new system. Ill post full specs and a photo journal of the build for those who are interested. :smile:

dam i want your speakers...i was about to purchase the promedia 4.1's refurbished but i just settled with the logitech z-640 5.1's...i usually just use headphones anyways(sennheiser hd-280 pro)..but your system rocks....it's a lot like mine...except almost every part is downgraded signnificantly from the cpu(2.4c) to the mouse(mx500)

Wire management looks like a bit of a problem in that case, I wonder where you can hide all the cables?

Then again, I'd assume its strictly for airflow as there is no window.
