rigging old mobile adapter to power 12V pc-fan
    #3657041 - 01/21/05 03:24 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

so i got this old nokia adapter here, saying that it is 12v and id like
to use the unit in order to powr a 12v fan.

question is, can i rig that thingie up in order to power the fan
or shouldnt i do this? im more or less not really experienced in
electronics besides soldering a few times.

should work, shouldnt it?

oh jeah and i also got this 9V adapter here, hooking it to the 12V
fan should just make it go slower right? since from what i know there
are alos these devices inside the pc that you can connect between the
mobo and the fan (like on its power line) to reduce power and therefor
reduce sound/efficiancy of fan.

any input plllls
peace ohm :mushroom2:

I'm no electrician but i know uneven electrical currents can mess alot of shit up (tvs, computers, etc.. ) I guess if you were safe about it... but If I did it I would probably start a fire.

9v = slower 12v = faster. Just solder the power and ground wires properly. I did this with some comp lights in my fruiting chamber.
