Yeah the top two pics are definitely cyans, the others were all allenii 👍 . Young cyans are super beautiful imo too

Here’s a link to a Cyanescens timelapse on YouTube you can see a patch mature from pins to rotten fruit with time stamps over the course of a month.

It’s crazy to me how the different allenii patches fruit out at different times? The place I hunt flushed out over 2 months ago, and I had one small initial flush, and two better flushes after some good rain. I didn’t really bother going back, because I wouldn’t be able to find shit without a leafblower or a rake (which is weird in a heavily populated suburban neighborhood.  How many flushes do you get out of your allenii spots?

Normally I only see a patch fruit only once in a season here in the valley. This year however is definitely different here as well. Also, normally all the patches I know fruit almost at the same time, maybe a week apart but this year was different in that regard too. Gotta go with the flow.

That Timelapse is sweet - thanks for sharing.

I had my first (2!) successes in GGP. I found one wavy cap growing on wood and two others growing in grass and clovers in a different area. Even though I go into the wooded areas, it’s interesting that the times that I found actives, they always can be seen nearby either from a road or pathway. Someone else mentioned how they seem to want to be seen, and I feel that way too. They hide in plain sight.

This has been the best season in a very long time. Early rain,  continous fog in areas,  and a lot more rain.  A solid second flush is coming up.

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

More valley action. This time from a little south of sacramento. I dont know if i am just really lucky this year or, like tahoe said its just a crazy year but i found 4 more patches yesterday. 2 allenii and 2 cyan. I only picked about 1/3 of the fruits and left the rest to develop. One of the allenii patches had a couple monsters popping up!

I am finding huge amounts in an area that I spawned 15 years ago. This area usually doesn't fruit very well because it's south facing and dries it rather quick.  But this year is different.

I had another success in Golden Gate Park because I followed my own advice of looking within plain sight. I found these within 5 feet of a pathway. I think someone was already there because there were a few mushrooms on the ground and I’m guessing they missed these because they hadn’t matured yet. Otherwise, it does seem like Golden Gate Park is super picked over already as a lot of the spots with the right habitat and mushrooms like LC all had a lot of signs of being picked through already.

Finally found some actives after years of hunting! I haven’t been that lucky before searching in the Central Valley. Today my luck finally turned around and I was able to find a good patch. Couldn’t take get a good picture because it was in a super public area. Might have to go back tomorrow to get some more!

yeah, I've been picking cyans in SF nearly every day for over two weeks now.  Took Christmas day off from hunting.  Not posting, just picking.  It's been awesome!  I finally found a couple of allenii today, otherwise cyans popping all over the place. 

Even though GGP has been nearly picked dry, I can't enter the park without leaving with a few. 

I keep finding new places, and one great new spot that I've now picked twice, and will be picking a third time, probably next week.

Really good day. Feeling blessed. Left some small Cyans last week and they got super chunky. Did the same today and with the rain in the forecast I should pull another good haul next week. Also found a new patch of Allenii right in front of a popular sandwich shop. Really high traffic area but I spent a few minutes picking anyway. If you act like you belong there and are prepared for questions from passers by there should be no worries. They are just begging to be found right now. I’m on my way to the Humbolt dunes tomorrow. Never been but it’s a hot spot according to iNaturalist.  If anyone has been putting off hunting their spots, I would get out there!! Good luck everybody.
