Established beds in the Bay Area are fruiting now(I saw the first pin on November 23rd and today's Tues, the 30th?), but it's very "pinner."(a pun intended). I only have one mushroom poppin up from a pretty large bed filled with rhizomorphic growth. Still not cold enough for the azures :frown:

I've been looking and looking, but I have yet to find any P. Cyanscenes. Damn.

In your expirence, are they more abundant in flower beds, with wood chips and stuff, or in grassy lawns? I've checked both with no success. Anyhoo, happy hunting.

You're not going to find them anytime soon in the Bay Area. This La Nina weather really screwed things up for mushrooms this year. I'd assume unattended colonies of cyanescens fruit much later than controlled beds.

As of Friday(today) I've noticed four pinheads in SF bay Area of P. cyanescens.

Where did you see those Azure? SF or neighboring area? I'm gonna go around east bay today and scope things out...hopefully that rain we just got will help things a little bit.

Bon courage.

They were "mysteriously" growing in my back yard. I got a bullshit/non-vigorous strain from JLF and it's starting to fruit. As for general fruiting now in the Bay Area, I think most places are too dehydrated from the mild winds we've been having after the rain. I have to water my bed and constantly monitor it, or else the pins will dehydrate. It never hurts to look....
