I see it not reporting a number. I would ignore the active cases metric. Almost no jurisdiction tracks cases to completion, and so cases never get removed from active status.

Where are all the conspiracy theorists? Shouldn’t this apparent fraud and astonishing amount of “accidental human error” and “sabotage” to promote what looks to be an ineffective big pharma drug be setting off alarm bells for the paranoid? Selective skepticism is an interesting thing.

Lots of data on the boosters from Israel.

This is active serious illness case rates per 100,000 in each vaccine status and age group.

Unvaccinated (blue) 70s 57x times the rate of serious illness than boostered (dark green) in that age group. Boostered boomers are half as likely to have serious illness than unvaccinated zoomers.

I'd like to add that I'm actually recovering from covid right now. The headache was a little rough the first day or two, and I had a slight fever and fatigue for three or four days. I'm just basically waiting for my sense of smell to come back, and I'll be back to normal. We are on the same level now as far as antibodies go, right?

I suppose. You’ve assaulted your immune system which is never good. You’ve been sick for a few days. You’ve destroyed neurons that connect your nose to your brain and now you’re hoping new ones grow back and are wired correctly. You probably infected other people. You’ve got a decent chance (10-20%) of having myocarditis for the next few weeks and shouldn’t do any vigorous exercise.

No, your immune system essentially studies the vaccine spike protein, maps a battle plan, eliminates it and remembers how to do it in the future. The vaccine spike protein can't fuse with cells and mRNA vaccines contain no live virus. With Covid infection cells in any area of your body that the virus spreads to can get infected with live virus causing various degrees of damage.

Many and likely most vaccine side effects are from an overactive or dysregulated immune response. Covid causes all those side effects exponentially more frequently due to the viral infection spreading throughout the body, and the viral infection causes what seems like endless other negative outcomes (lung scarring,loss of taste/smell, pneumonia, stroke, respiratory failure, heart attacks, brain damage, organ failure, etc.)

Just a joke. You can't deny it's funny to see you talking about not trusting official statistics when you've spent quite a few posts acting as if a vague statistic you heard from a cousin of yours was evidence of something, completely disregarding both official data as well as anecdotes from people here who work in hospitals.

Glad you're okay after getting Covid. If you really want to get technical after 3 vaccine exposures 8 months apart my B cell and T cell response will likely be stronger and longer lasting. Obviously though the bigger difference is that you took a silly unnecessary risk, felt shitty for days, lost sense of smell, may have underlying damage that will pop up down the road (the kind that's common with Covid, and non-existent with vaccines)... for what exactly?

Yeah every single vaccine side effect except maybe anaphylaxis occurs at a much higher rate with actual covid infection. Likely they are caused by the same process, it’s just when you are infected that process is a lot more extreme. The myocarditis is a perfect example. Maybe one in 10,000 for the vaccine and one in 10 for actual infection, and it’s much more severe with covid and is something that happens pretty much equally in all age groups. The one in ten figure for covid related myocarditis is from studies on college athletes.

Absolutely. You really need to be sick and infected with covid for 10 days or more to get a full adaptive immune response. It takes that long for the cells that make antibodies to mature. Once they mature, if there are no longer antigens floating around because the innate immune system has cleared the virus, those cells won’t make many antibodies. They will sit there until the next exposure to the antigen before pumping out antibodies en masse. Some of parts of the adaptive immune system can take months before they are ready. One exposure doesn’t really cut it with this particular virus.

Mainly due to regulatory hurdles. They would have to go through the entire trial process again, which is absurd. We don’t do that for flu vaccines and we shouldn’t have to do that for the covid vaccines just because a couple of nucleotides have been changed.

There’s also the idea that you’re just going to be chasing variants. I suspect that the delta variant will be the backbone for all future variants tho, and it’s possible that there won’t be anymore significant variants. Practically every variant that has evolved since delta began spreading has gone down in flames. Delta has wiped the floor with them all. Covid has become a remarkably stable virus in the past six months.
