I just recently got a diamond dust knife sharpening grinding wheel

I love knives. I've been a cook/chef in many many many restaurants and also a butcher/meatcutter/seafood worker so I know my knives!



But all I'm talking about is me me me..


What do you like to use your knives on Asante? In the Corona Virus Apocalypse they'd make great weapons. ( trying to stay on topic lol)


I will post pictures at some point of my Brazilian blade and some other of my chef knives when I get time.

Damn 6 people. Surprised it hasn't happened already in a smaller county but there ls probably not many smaller counties than 600. Not making light of it by the way. I'm at work so haven't looked yet but I wonder what the Vax stats are for that county. Low if I had to guess.

I'm coming up on 8 months since my second shot of Pfizer, going to large indoor concert at the end of the month.  Is that time frame adequate for a booster?

Wife says 6 months is adequate.  She's getting her flu shot and then has to wait 2 weeks before her booster.  Think I'm going to get flu and booster shots together this Friday.  I hate flu shots, always feel terrible after getting them even though my wife says that's not a thing.  Haven't had a flu shot in 7 years now but don't wanna get my kids sick.

8 months should be fine, I think that's about where I was at. Realistically it's probably not necessary in terms of your own health, but the data so far looks like it substantially increases protection against infection and so transmission. Many places are still throwing vaccines out at the end of the day so might as well get it IMO.

There's some reason to believe it could be a particularly bad flu year too since no one except Crazy Horse has any fresh antibodies from last year. I won't be surprised if large events become spreader events for both and co-infections become more common. Who knows though

If I was 8 months out on the Pfizer I’d get another shot. The Pfizer is the one that seems to start dropping off rapidly after 6 months. I expect these boosters to last more than a year.

The boosters aren’t necessary for regular folks to prevent serious illness, but they do pretty much shut down breakthroughs for everyone.

J&J is applying for authorization for a second dose.

The J&J seems a lot less effective at preventing breaktroughs than moderna.

I tried to get a moderna booster and those fuckers at the pharmacy told me they wouldn't do it because it was not FDA approved yet. I'll try a couple other pharmacies and see it I can swing it, but it'll be nice to get it in half dose if that's what the actual data shows is best.

They royally fucked up every other part of the covid response where I'm at, but somehow they managed to follow guidelines on not giving an unapproved booster shot. It blew my mind when they told me no. They're probably mandating the sharing of used tissues in schools down here.

No one will give you half a dose. If you want a full dose just use a different name and say it's your first, they never checked my ID or verified my identity for any of the doses. I probably wouldnt get a booster yet with moderna though

I just asked for a booster. I'm not in a rush though. It's still within the 6 month window for me, and it looked like the moderna data was better than the Pfizer from what I saw. I'm in a high risk area with extra occupational exposure too, so I'm wearing an n95 to lower exposure risk. I wouldn't rely on the vaccine alone. Lots of people are still showing up in the hospital with secondary problems even when vaccinated. It'd suck to add something like renal failure to my list of troubles. I'm already extra crochety for my age group.:crankey:
