Using the EZ dial. This is my first flush (ever). Thank you Pasty. Thought the pinset would be more widespread. What can I do? I still have the lids on and seem to have plenty of moisture. This is the best of my 3 tubs, but the others are similar.

Looks like you got mold man.

Besides that conditions look good, maybe a little more air but that could just be the contam giving the pins that look.

normally if my tub looks like this, usually goes green soon after, but you can still get some shrooms

I’m lookin at most of the bottom right quarter. It looks like there’s already green under the myc but I’m not positive.

I guess it could just be the lighting but it looks green to me.

It’s either green or bruising. But bruising like that would be odd. It’s not a good look. You’ll likely know soon enough what’s up.

So far I have only run the PE in this version of the tub. Previous versions I ran RW in. I’m not really growing anything but PE varieties and RW these days. The long pin time for PE did require me to mist a few of these tubs once or twice, but nothing excessive. If you live in a humid area you will likely not need to mist at all.

I'm just starting out and curious, what is the temp and RH range of the room you grow in?

I no longer live in the same house but in the winter it’s generally around 10%-15% RH in this bone dry house. I do run a humidifier in the room which likely boosts things 5% or so.

Thanks for sharing this design Pasty.

I keep my room between 68-72f and room humidity is between 30-50%.

PESH pinset and GT pinset looking good

I think we talked about this before but if not here goes. I think you're in the same Soviet Canuckistan land as me. One of these is worth its weight in gold my man and will easily plumb to any furnace with nearly no fucking around.

A good $200 investment, fuck nosebleeds.

Yeah I live a fair bit more North than you do. Those units are like standard here, can’t sell a house without one lol. Still they are limited when the temps get low enough.

So ill throw this out there after testing several runs. Im finding in my 50rh that having 3 lower holes on all sides doesnt seem to be enough. i still get quite a bit of pooling water. I have to flip some of the lids. Something id rather not do. And im also on the fence about adding more holes. Some varieties it works perfect for but when i do have super dense flushes, its giving me issues. Debating on trying one tub with more than 3 bottom holes on each side. Ive currently converted my setup to 90% one variety and its the dense flush variety so im still debating what to do in my head.

What i do find interesting is the tub design itself works the opposite of the way i thought it would. You think adding more holes would cause drying issues but for me it doesnt in 50rh.

I can see how fewer holes in a dry environment help keep the moisture in compared to bug holes.

Maybe add a few more on each side and put tape over them so you can gradually pull it off if it’s not enough?

This shit works fucking amazing and I don't undertand how it's even possible nobody came up with something similar sooner. Fuck I feel dumb for not having thought of doing something similar myself.

Hole size and placement definitely matters.

Use the auxiliary hole on the "back and front" I had to during the summer when RH was high and had zero problems with contams due to stagnant air and hardly any signs of dry fruiting bodies or bad surface conditions. However my tubs are not sterlites and came from a place called Canadian Tire. They've got different dimensions AND two extra holes per side near the handles that the shipping company used to zip tie together.

If that doesn't work I'd consider testing opening the holes up a little larger. These tubs perform just too well in their current design to want to stray too too far. My biggest regret is how many I modified to Pastys OG micropore design which required knocking out larger holes so I could use micropore while dealing with gnats. Hard to go back once ya drill those holes.

Can you say anything about the room they're in? Growing room? Closet? Is there lots of air turbulence from a fan? If you have lots of airflow in the environment they're in I'd put in the optional hole on the front and back, if that's still not enough then I'd slowly test out opening the holes little by little with drilling. Easy to go one way, harder to go back.

They're EZ dialed, which means they're not ready from the get go but should get you close to where you need to make few adjustments.
