I'd like to tag a question on:

Would it be safe to extract the psiloc(yb)in from shrooms growing off a contaminated cake?

Be damn careful using any of the substances listed. Ethanol would be your safest bet. Denatured alcohol is a mixture of ethyl alcohol and methyl alcohol. Some of the other substances leave ugly residues and are carcinogens.

My suggestion would be, that unless you have had quite a bit of lab time and are completely familiar with extraction processes, don't do it. Use fresh or dried shrooms. Its easier, safer, and you still get results.

This has been asked a lot over the past couple of months.. anyways, 100% methanol (aka MeOH, methyl alcohol, wood alcohol) is best, according to Jochen Gartz. If using ethanol, be sure to get lab grade 100% ethanol which has been dried chemically.. ethanol containing ANY water (like Everclear, Methylated Spirits, etc) is bad because it also extracts enzymes which dephosphorylize psilocybin to psilocin which is less stable and will degrade quickly if you don't use the extracted psiloc[yb]in immediately.

grr, what if shroomies are contaminated? might not extration plus filtration be a good way of getting rid of the bad stuff

What is the actual process for extracting silly cybin? Is there anything to gain from this, rather than just consuming the little beauties in some OJ?

You can not be sure will you remove contams by extractions unless you know which are contams.
Though nobody here knows shit about it do not experiment on that way.

Hey all, i've been AWOL for the last few months, but i recently started again, just started a batchi this weekend actually. anyways....in regards to the potent little aborts: what you can do instead of playing with non-pure and highly volitaile chemicals, and since you seem to have enough that you are willing to try extracttion, it also means you have proabably enough weight of aborts that you can just dry'em up, grind 'em up, mix with a little OJ and have a nice experience.

Accually methanol does not leave that much toxic residue when pure, if any. I dont like denatured too much its slower drying than methanol, and methanol makes a better extraction. The thing is that with ethyl you can just drink your extraction, not having to evaporate it on somthing makes the process that much more simple.
