Methanol happens to be good for psilocybin, but I wouldn't use wood alcohol to make any medicine. It's very toxic and you can't remove all the solvent.

Everclear is usually safe and effective, but it won't work on psychedelic mushrooms. Water is pretty good. Reduce it by half in a double boiler or steam distill it.
