Regardless of who wins, the vast majority of the US will be fucked. It's a One Party system and that's not changing anytime soon.

I dont know what youre talking about because i dont use facebook, but heres what actually happened...

Death rate was claimed to be .05% (which is already low) and then the CDC admitted only 6% of those .05% had no SERIOUS underlying condtions (no, being overwieght does not qualify, we are talking real health conditions). So basically this isnt deadly at all.

The CDC said:

Table 3 shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.
According to the CDC, 9683 died in the United States with only having COVID-19 listed on their death certificate.

That's what the CDC actually said and morons looking to save face calling the whole pandemic a hoax drunkenly said SEE!? No this just means that 10k people literally just dropped dead of covid with no underlying conditions or comorbidities

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not “backpedal” on the number of deaths caused by COVID-19, reducing the figure from nearly 154,000 to just over 9,000, as social media posts claimed.

The term “Only 6%” trended widely on Twitter over the weekend as supporters of the QAnon conspiracy theory promoted tweets that falsely suggested the CDC had updated its records to show that only 6% of U.S. deaths tied to COVID-19 were legitimate. President Donald Trump was among those who tweeted the information, which was later taken down by Twitter for violating platform rules.

The posts, which received hundreds of thousands of shares online, were based on a regularly updated CDC data table showing underlying conditions for those who died of COVID-19. The conditions included high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity, as well as problems that are caused by COVID-19 itself, such as respiratory failure and pneumonia.

The CDC data table is based on an analysis of death certificates that mention COVID-19 as a cause. For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned, the CDC notes.

The other 94% list COVID-19 and other conditions together. Among those deaths, there were, on average, 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death, the public health agency said.

As of Aug. 26, the CDC said, there were 161,332 deaths where COVID-19 was listed on the death certificate. Social media users over the weekend posted an older screenshot of the data that showed 153,504 deaths. The posts used the 6% figure to claim the U.S. death toll was much lower — 9,210.

“CDC just backpedaled (quietly) and adjusted the U.S. COVID deaths from 153,504 to 9,210. Admitting that their numbers are so (expletive) that they are off by a whopping 94%,” said a post being shared on Facebook Monday.

But such claims misrepresent the data. A death isn’t excluded from the COVID-19 tally just because the person was obese or had diabetes or dementia. Someone with heart problems can still be killed by COVID-19, and the death certificate could mention both as contributing.

Experts say it’s not surprising that so few people who died from COVID-19 had no underlying conditions listed on their death certificates. It is rare for people not to have multiple medical issues at death.

“The underlying cause of death is the condition that began the chain of events that ultimately led to the person’s death," Dr. Robert Anderson, who oversees the CDC’s death statistics work, said in a statement. “In 92% of all deaths that mention COVID-19, COVID-19 is listed as the underlying cause of death."

How they assess the death toll of disaster events is something that got me puzzled in the aftermath of hurricane Maria. The initially published estimate was based on the actual bodies in the morgue count and - from what I remember - appeared consistent with the scale of the event. Then, a month or two later, a revised and much higher death toll was promoted by the media.

The variance was due to a different methodology used. The higher count was arrived at by reviewing the total mortality in Puerto Rico during and immediately after Maria. The ratinale for this approach is that it is not possible to correctly attribute the cause of death in all cases but aggregated mortality stats will pick up the excess deaths compared to, for example, the average figure for same period in other years. For Maria, the death toll assessed this way was higher than counting the individual death certificates.

I see the merit of this methodology but it also has a massive issue. What if, for some obscure combination of reasons, the aggegated mortality stats in Puerto Rico for the period under consideration were similar to other years? Would the media declare that Maria has caused no deaths? Also, if the correct way to assess how many people have been killed by Maria was to look at the aggregated mortality stats then the correct way to assess the impact of covid would be to compare how many people died due to health reasons during the pandemic to other years. But the media are in the business of sensationalising the news so a higher casuality number will always be in the headlines.

The difference between these two approaches can be quite dramatic - the Chernobyl death toll estimates vary from 31 (direct) to one million (excess deaths assessed by Greenpeace).

Does someone mind explaining to me why they still support Trump, if they do?  To me, it seems like he's simply unravelling our democracy and his only interests are himself, his famlily/wealthy friends, and most importantly, himself.  I'm really curious why people from the shroomery community would support him.  qman puts it well:
