Okay, I like CNN

You like Fake News spewing political/economic propaganda for the Corporate Elite?  :huxleyfacepalm:

There are a few amazing journalists working at CNN. They don’t let the network’s agenda compromise their journalistic integrity, so I like and respect the shit out of them.
Ok, there’s like 2.5 (I’m on the fence about Jake Tapper lately) of those left but still...😬

You can't work at CNN and have journalistic integrity. When you make that assumption, you're suggesting that they have a choice in the matter when in fact they don't.

CNN doesn't care about low ratings or running a biased debate. They have no integrity and zero credibility with the viewing public.

What do you think you'd lose under Bernie's plan?

The dignity of not being forced onto and relying on a govt program , to start .

How is it undignified to reap the benefits of a society that you contribute to?

How about the dignity of knowing you pay your dues, and your country is stronger for it? That's a point of pride in my book.

Trump Privately Obsessed With Bernie Sanders’ Popularity and Socialism’s Appeal

It's no secret. Trump is shaking in his boots, now that Sanders appears to be a very likely primary winner.

That's a fair point. For most of my life I have had good health coverage, and never any need to use it. I'm not just concerned with myself though. I'm concerned about people paying $600 for their insulin, or $80,000 for Sofosbuvir, when the same treatment is available in Pakistan for $300.

Bingo.
Psilynut2, I have great insurance, too, but I want the average American to have better insurance, so I'm willing to take the risk of Medicare for all.  Life isn't just about you or me.

Also, I suddenly really don't like CNN after they have been pedaling this drama between Bernie and Warren.  Completely uncalled for and it's only hurting the Democrats by dividing.  Bad bad move by CNN.

I like social programs . Pretty much want all the same shit you guys do . I want people to have access to them and I don’t think it’s undignified to use them .
Where’s the dignity in having something taken away from you and having to use a govt program if you don’t need it though ?

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Assuming we are talking about Medicare for all, there’s no reason to believe you’d have to get rid of your insurance, especially if you have special job requirements.  It would be on your Union really. And if you have a deadly job, any accidents on that job aren’t covered by your health insurance any ways. That’s covered by workers compensation.

Sorry that came out wrong , I started thinking about all the times I’ve hurt myself at work and have just gone to the doctor and said I did it at home and went back to work the next day . Workman’s comp sucks would prefer to avoid that if possible . But ya if I get a leg chopped off or something that’s what pays .

I don’t think Bernie is being genuine . His proposal would basically make my healthcare an employer provided perk . He also wants to ban duplicate insurance . Am I really supposed to believe
I’m going to get all the money my employer pays and still keep the insurance I have ? His plan doesn’t make sense  to me .  I just can’t believe shit will turn out the way he is promising .

It's social progress.  If the goal is to have all citizens be covered with health insurance, medicare for all is the way to do it.  The market has never done that.

Why would dignity ever even enter the conversation here?  As we live our lives we discover things that give us better results than the methods we've been using in the past.  Then we change, adopt those methods, and it's progress.  That's all that it is.

The only way I can understand why you are thinking this way is the characterization of medicare as a 'government program'. That term evokes images of failures and outcasts who may be on welfare or something.

Tying democratic socialism to failures and outcasts is a major victory for the undemocratic forces that set up all these think tanks and MSM outlets to program the population.

Free your mind.

Dude , I have the best thing people on Medicare and almost everyone else doesn’t have . The ability to change it and make it better by simply not showing up to work. Why would I want to lose that ?

Re: Sanders [Re: JohnRainy]

open question among all this; is Bernie proposing a plan that wipes out existing healthcare options or something?
my father gets his medical and dental for his family through the Boilermakers and Steelworkers unions
my step-father does industrial mechanics and gets both of those covered along with eyeglasses through his workplace

am living in Canada tho, so myself get a basic government coverage
while the government covers around 150$ on frames for my glasses; my step-father can have his work health care cover in excess of 300$

Medicaid gets you one eye exam every 2 years, new lenses as needed and new frames every year. It only covers $150 towards frames but everything else is free. But designer frames shouldn’t be covered at all imo

Could you elucidate underlined a bit further?
is this just sort of an idea that designer references fashion rather than degree of quality?

Bernie is being genuine, but even the best intentions get hijacked by bullshit political agendas from asshole politicians who aren't held accountable by their respective constituent voters. I fully understand your criticism, and I will not say that I am without concern, on that front. I do know that Bernie knows the system better than the vast majority of people, even in Washington, and I think he has the capability of accomplishing great things. I believe he is one person that can work across the aisle to accomplish great things, as he did with McCain.

Here is Bernie fondly reflecting on working with McCain.

Holy shit... This bitch has gone fucking crazy. Who's the reality tv show star now?

She's so shrill too... Honestly, I could never vote for a woman in 2020.

JP... But, if she thinks playing the V-card is gonna make her fucking president, she's an utter fool, particularly post-Hillary Clinton losing to Trump. She is just coming off downright childish now. Prior to this primary, I would have thought this kind of behavior to be beneath her. I have lost all respect for Senator Elizabeth Warren.
