With you here in the States.  Have met foreign exchange students and get it to my limited degree but I think I get why so many of that population doesn't want to give their will over to Mainland China and its fascist policies.  Stand up.  Like the Ukraine, and some general said, not my fight.  But you are in the right there IMO.  Never give up.

Yeah that young man arrested will never fly in a airplane again.  Social credit scores.  One day it might catch on in the States or the U.K.  Black Mirror.  But the Chinese go way above and beyond.  Fight against it.  And a third of the population is there.  Was better under U.K. rule and Tibet, whatever.

Not my business, social warrior.  lol. Take enough esoterics and one will see we are all connected and one can get each whoever is on this planet.  And maybe in time those beyond it.:crazy2:  Wait, that is just Trump.

China is oppressive. There is debate about how capitalist vs communist China is because they are both. In order to be fascist you have to be capitalist, by definition.  China is a superpower and Hong Kong is small. China legally owns Hong Kong and ultimately they can do whatever they want to them. The international community can protest, but that will have little effect in the foreseeable future, just as was the case with Tiananmen Square and Tibet.

If you have seen the videos of the protests.  They won't relent easily and am making an educated guess that there will be always an underground resistance. 

When people are used to freedom they don't give it up easily or for the future.  See a Hong Kong person and then a Chinese person.  Or just get the vibe of that place compared to mainland China. 

This will not be a battle that is won.  There will always be resistance there.  I could write more about it but want to wait and see the developments as time goes by.  Is interesting to me.

You cannot even entertain or investigate the idea of why Americans would want a small government with a large military.

Just like every democrat candidate, you are disconnected from what libertarians and conservatives tend to believe.

This is probably why Yang crashed and burned too. He has no clue how they think or why.

This is also why Trump was elected.

Nobody is going to agree on which parts of the Govt to cut.  Conservatives want to cut all the departments that keep the liberals happy and liberals wanna cut what makes the conservatives happy.

Conservatives don't want any peaceful measures.  They want more military, more cops, more prison, less environmental and social causes.

Pubs do shrink the government, but not enough.

I am more libertarian when it comes to government -- other than military.

I like uncle Sam to stay out of my business while simply protecting us.

Many people feel this way.

Already served in the Navy. Also five and a half years as a volunteer firefighter.

No problem , the marines wouldn’t take me when I tried to enlist back in 98 , they said I had been arrested to many times .
