This will definitely hurt the investment of America Online in the chinese marketplace. I hear they were developing sofware to communicate with them. Have you noticed that there are no online translators for chinese to english. It's almost rigged as to keep the two superpowers from communicating with each other, and then keep the cold war going, and billions invested in war machines.
Still though even for the fact that this statement is made, it let's people know that the chinese were not standing still and in fact being very active without american and british support. Same with americans, we know are rights are being violated, and speak to each other in code over the internet, about these wrongs. But where are the chances to speak to chinese in that way.
The government does not seem to care though, thus leaving us to our devices, and the mainstream brainwashed by television, same as the mainstream in china.
I know their are american leftist newspapers and articles that are currently being distrubuted in chinese. That in fact most americans do not read.
I wonder how the chinese government is selling this to the people, just safeguards for pornography I guess, you know how chinese hate porn.
The only statement I have to say is that I am not a fan of america online, and to myself wonder why they are the only ones capable of setting up secure internet communication with china. I say fuck it and the whole telephone and fiberoptic technology companies, that are pushing there ideas of the worldwide community.
I want to see the growth of sattelite computer companies and software, so that in fact you can talk to anyone in the world, without the country being developed in phone lines and fiberoptics. You know how expensive those are though. 7 dollars a minute and a good 5 thousand investment for equipment. But just like cell phones, the more users the lower the price, so if everone were to decide to go in this direction then it would probraly be as cheap as cell phones, or cheaper if your cell phone and computer were the same.
