Advice on next step after Mycelium growth

Hey guys so my second attempt seems to be going well. But I have a question someone told me that during the stages of growth of Mycelium. That I should break the cake up to help speed it up. So is this correct or should I just leave it to grow fully around the cake?? I don't want to damage the Mycelium u see but at same time don't want to miss something out. Pictures are below.. cheers and mush love..

I can tell that your sub is super wet .. you see the thick rhizo Ropey looking growth ??

As far as breaking up you should on grain but  that looks like brf and I am not sure if you could break that up I mean I know you can but if its wise I am not sure. 

I suppose you could and then try to mold it back to a cake in a sense .. ??

So is that bad with it being wet like that  or will it be ok mate?? Is there anything I can do to get the water out?? Also yes your correct mate it's brf cake. Do u think I'm best just chillin and letting it do it's thing then for the safest option??

I have a feeling that bag is contaminated, the bottom center area that is slightly off white looks malicious to me.

The good thing is, to find out if that is contamination, you just break up the bag till it looks like there isnt even any mycelium anymore, really mix it. If it stops growing or turns green tomorrow or the next day, you know it's bad. If it recoverrs, then it's fine

My thinking on breaking it up is it will be clumpy unless you form it back to a cake .. then it may be too dense

That's just my thoughts someone may chime in and let you know it's ok I only worked with brf a few times I only use poo and coir . 

As far as the wetness there isnt much to do now if you prepped it yourself just use less next time .. it should be fine but with more water then needed it allows nasties to form and also can make your fruits not grow very big and give you a small flush


No the thicker stuff is just due to the excess water it looks healthy to me besides being pretty wet

Ok so if I break it up a bit then clump it back together this shouldn't harm the Mycelium then no??

It definitely isn't going to harm the myc with grain we break up multiple times..


I say wait for someone else to chime in if no one does then go ahead and break it up and mix it up well and form it back to how it looks now

Why are you using BRF in a spawn bag?

Brf bags actually tend to stall out because the BRF packs down alot, so if you break it up be careful to not compact the BRF to much

How much brf did you put in there?

I dont think the shape matters OP. I'd go ahead and break it up very well to make sure it's clean and spread the myc. You can try to mold it back to the original shape if you want to but it doesnt matter at all as long as it's all touching at some point.
