Due to the delay in implementing Brexit we now have to partake in the elections for the European Parliament.

The polls indicate that Nigel Farage with his newly created Brexit Party are going to win. The Brexit Party stands for a No-Deal Brexit which is what the 17,400,000 Leavers voted for three years ago. He will take votes from Ukip, Conservative and Labour parties.

The Remain vote will be split between the Conervatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Greens.

The Leave vote will be split between Farage and UKIP. Some cynics believe that Farage's purpose is to split the Leave vote and destroy Ukip and that he will be rewarded for this in the future.

Personally I think the Leavers will win the election, it's just a matter of by how much.

Farage will not join the other eurosceptic Europeans in the EU Parliament, he is basically Conservative whereas they are anti-globalists and populists.

How do you know what 17.4 million people voted for?

The questions put to the electorate in the referendum were:

Do you want to remain in the European Union?
Do you want to leave the European Union?

17.400,000 voted to leave, this was a majority of approx. 1,400,000 over the remain vote.

I believe it is safe to presume that 17,400,000 wanted to leave.

There was no mention of any deal, it was a simple vote, remain or leave.

agreed. but all the different ideas of brexit means can contradict eachother so its not a united voice for anything except displeasure with our government and the EU. All the people that voted for remain might voted to stay in, doesn't mean they all loved the EU or our government but its certainly are more unified position with clarity of what it means.

At the time of the referendum there was no mention of deals, it was only after the result that the losing side brought deals into the mix.
It was the remainers that started equivocating by putting conditions on our leaving.
The truth is that Theresa May is determined to overturn the result at all costs, and she has many allies in what many see as an act of treason.
We will see if she is willing cancel the European elections. It is becoming apparent that the Tories will be severely punished in the upcoming vote. She can only do this by agreeing to the EU demands before May 23rd. If she does this, nobody knows what trouble will ensue.

huh???? there always would have been a deal of some kind, what are you talking about?

So you think the vote was directly a no deal kind of leaving of the EU? lol that was not explicit at all, there were tons of different potential arrangements proposed.

Are you one of these Britain first lot?

I think May doesn't want to do Brexit because she knows it'll be shit and it'll destroy the party even more because no one wants to be responsible for it. But she is being forced to do it regardless otherwise her party will split anyway. Shes fucked either way.

what are you implying? far right violence? Yeah we'll get it but they can fuck themselves. Democracy means we can change our mind now that we have more information and understand all the lies and misinformation propagated for the referendum. People understand the reality better its a shrinking minority who want to plow on ahead with this bullshit. Even many brexiteers, and the people that just did a protest vote, or the people who thought they were going to get £350 million for the NHS have sobered up a bit.

The Quislings are starting to say that the EU election  should be  cancelled. They are getting nervous about letting the people vote again.

Without a vote they can continue to spin lies about how people have changed their minds regarding the EU. It is now apparent to the Quislings will that they will lose again on 23rd May. This will expose their propaganda for what it is.

It is now just the Leavers who are looking forward to the 23rd May.

The Quislings...

I'm going to guess it's a derogatory term for a remainer.  After all, you can't have move forward on any issue without hate for your opponent.

I'm just glad we have people like Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Nigel Farage to fight our corner.  It's obvious they're the kind of men who have the interests of the working man at heart.  Straightforward guys with an ordinary background, who understand the pressures of living and working in the UK today.

Huge news Theresa May just resigned from being Prime Minster of the UK. Unreal. Looks like Brexit was a failure. Maybe they can still save it somehow.....

Lot's of people cheering for her to leave and then realizing that whoever replaces her is going to be worse.

And to add insult to injury she has to hang around until Trump visits, no wonder she's crying.

I'm sure he will inadvertently add much salt to her wounds somehow during his visit  :super:

Boris Johnson is calling for yet another general election after losing a huge vote in parliament. Yet another failure for populism. They just need to have another brexit referendum.
