Brutal stuff. Hard to believe that Johnson can't get it done (that's a joke).

For real, they are in a tough spot. A new referendum I do think is their best bet, but I doubt it will happen.

The Brexiteers have won. Today the UK leaves the European Union, a huge defeat for the globalists.

We won the referendum, but the Quislings obstructed the process, then  the Brexit Party won the European elections and still the establishment obfuscated. We got rid of the dreadful Theresa May and Boris stepped up, he got rid of 21 of the worst Quislings in the Tory party through bitter resignations and directly through withdrawal the party whip.

Boris called an election and fought it on 'getting Brexit done', he won by landslide.

Tonight (31 January 2020) at 11.00pm GMT we leave, and there are street parties throughout the land as the people celebrate our great victory. It was hard work, but we did it democratically, even though it took three elections before we forced the state to obey the people.

This was not a victory for the right, it was a victory for democracy.

We now have make sure that Boris sticks to his guns. We can walk away from the negotiations at any time and tell them to we will trade with them under WTO rules.

BTW Quisling was the Norwegian politician who collaberated with the Germans during their occupation of Norway, his folliowers were called Quislings. Quisling became a word to describe a collaborator, or a traitor and has been in general usage long before the EU was formed.

Nothing was accomplished though, right? Boris didn’t negotiate any part of a trade deal, according to all of the articles I’ve seen so far

The negotiations haven't begun yet. Quite frankly many of us would be happy trading under WTO rules as we do with many other countries.

As I write this there are 30 minutes to go before we regain our independence. Just opened a bottle of Wychwood Hobgoblin 5.2% Ruby Ale to go with the fair sized piece of superb Nepalese Hash I ingested a couple of hours ago.

I've still got some of last years Libs left, I can feel them calling me.

Hey-ho it's a great day.

This move has Scotland thinking independence. Unlike the rest of Britain they favored remaining in the European Union for trade reasons.

The Scottish Nationalist Party is always seeking independence from the UK. There was a referendum in 2015 and the Scots voted to remain in the UK. At that time Alec Salmond, then the SNP leader, maintained it was a once in a generation vote.

Now it appears that Sturgeon, the present SNP leader, wants a referendum every couple of years until she gets the 'right' result. If she does succeed in getting another referendum and wins, Scotland will be independent, most of the English will not be that bothered.

If they apply to rejoin the EU it will take years, and it is likely that Spain and probably Belgium will veto. If not, the EU will insist on a hard border between England and Scotland. This will affect Scottish exports to it's main customer ie England.

The Scots are not stupid, especially when it comes to money.

Jeremy Corbyn was a Brexiteer until he became leader of the Labour Party, he then changed his mind.

He is an unashamed Marxist and brought a lot of baggage with him. He did well in the 2017 general election, but that was because Theresa May was so terrible.

He had to cope with the Blairite wing of the party, thus the change of policy on the EU. His support in the party came from a group called Momentum, they are extreme left wing and following the decision to reduce the membership fee for joining party to £3.00 ($4.00) almost every communist in the land signed up. they had full voting rights on policy and leadership immediately.

He was totally out of touch with the working class of the North and the Midlands most of whom are anti-communmist.

This can demonstrated by the imposition of a far left middle class London woman to stand in Bassetlaw, Nottinghamshire. The local party had already selected their candidate, a local man who was a Brexiteer (reflecting the opinion of the constituancy as demonstrated in the refeferendum). He was deselected and although Bassetlaw had been Labour since the 1930's they lost by a huge margin. This was repeated in constituencies across the nation outside the major cities.

Basically Labour was split between the Blairites and Momentum, and a leader that cannot unify his own party will not win elections unless his oppoment is as bad as Theresa May or Hilary Clinton.

Boris is devious and disingenuous but he has charisma. Corbyn is devious and disingenuous with no charisma.

BTW ther were over 20 Labour MP's who were dedicated Brexiteers, they were all got rid of before the election including John Mann the previous Labour MP for Bassetlaw. This was a bad mistake and once again demonstrated the contempt with which Corbyn and his cohorts treated their traditional supporters outside of London.

Hopefully this will see the demise of the far left in the UK for a generation, and will encourage our European friends to throw off the shackles of globalism.

Scotland will not secede for the reasons outlined in my previous post.

If the improbable happened they would have to re-apply and Spain would veto as they do not want their province of Catalonia to secede. Catalonia is the richest province in Spain and effectively subsidises the rest of the country.

We have been independent for 4 days now and the sky has not fallen in. The Quislings are still moaning and predicting death and destruction, they are blaming everything bad that happens on Brexit but most of us are just getting on with our lives.

I think that what has really upset the Globalists is that tha people have won, and with this victory comes the realisation that it is still the people that have the power. Some may call it populism, I prefer to call it democracy.

That my friends is why the left always seek to overturn democracy.

Good luck to our American friends and here's hoping that the Donald gets re-elected.

                      POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

I haven't heard this before, probably because like most bikers I don't  particularly like thrash metal, Hawkwind are more to my liking.

Despite this I agree with the message in the 'song', The clan chiefs were and are parasitic, but they are Scottish not English. In the main they supported remaining in the EU as they received huge subsidies  fron the EU.

Previously the subsidies to livestock farmers was dependent on the number of animals, but after intense lobbying by landowners throughout the EU this was changed and the subsidy was aligned to the amount of land owned.

Many of the clan chiefs own huge estates, much of it not suitable for crops, all they have to do is put a few thousand sheep on their holdings and the money comes rolling in.

They can still earn huge amounts from American and European hunters by charging a fortune for stalking deer by day and luxury bed and board in the castle by night.

Brexit is to the detriment of the land owning classes.

In the U.S. the bikers like metal. I know the name Hawkwind and I'm from that era, but I've never heard them. I had no idea that Lemmy and Ginger Baker had stints with them.
