my go to would be unmodded. but i also do modded:shrug:

heres a decent modded tub result

dont remember all the details but that mini was 2qt spawn 3qts coco for 77.4g



also 2qts spawn but only 2qt coco if i recall

id prefer about 10 to 12 high BE% mini tubs at a given time. last time i did 20+ larger monos was over 10yrs ago and i dont have pics.

Unmodded tubs get more FAE than traditional monos. I base this off of air currents and evaporation rates when was experimenting with whether a unmod could work well. Basically like removing all poly/tape from the top holes.

Mushrooms can move air consciously by generating differences in heat and regulating moisture. There has been very much scientific research into this, as well as speculation that on a grand level large colonies of mycelium affect the earths weather patterns.

When air currents are restricted by filter material, the action of the mushrooms generating their own air currents is also inhibited.

If you’re going that hard I’d take a couple pages out of the agaricus growers book and do big trays steam pasteurized in place in a giant fruiting room. Fuck maintaining/washing that many tubs. My least favorite part of growing is washing tubs. Everything else is super easy..

I feel you.

My least favorite part is spawning with liners to avoid said hassles, but I do it... There are tradeoffs everywhere.

Hence my genuine interest in bulk growers experiences running unmodded tubs.

Fuck a liner. Get your room, and field capacity dialed, tamp down the sub around the edges and you dont need it. Would still need to dump and give a rinse before using again, especially if contaminated.

Literally never used one. Get sidepins sometimes but not enough to add an extra step and extra plastic trash, already take enough shit to the dump as is using bags.

Not sure how using an unmodified tub would make any difference?
