Gee, maybe we all need more click-bait internet medicine?  My Dad and his mom both had type II and were not fat at all.  They both had brittle diabetes.

First, diabetes can die from low blood sugar.  So think a little more before believe bs you read.  Type II isn't always from being overweight.  It only means ADULT onset.

Well, I did drink a poppy smoothie today but I havent had a pill in years. I also got an A in my biomanufacturing class.

There is 2 types of insulin.  Some people must take both.  They have different properties.  But being highly educated, you already knew that.

That's why they make billions though. Varied formulations. A single drug can have 100's of patents attached to it. The more patents you can have on a drug the more market share you have, essentially.

Lots of patients are for just the manufacturing process.  But patents run out, and quicker than people realize.  It's the sneaky cheap tactics that the corporations use.

It is similar to owning all the diamonds, or most of them, so their worthless nature is more valuable.  Or owning the only grocery store in town, or the only gas station, or being the biggest slum lord.

Their all sleezy and know it.

I never said it was from being over weight, its from insulin resistance, no type 2 are dying from low blood sugar, and it dosnt mean adult onset anymore, because there has been kids with it, although it used to be known as adult onset

They only last 5 years, that's why theyre making new formulations.

Most pharma companies are just looking to get bought out though. They always try and tout that they needed the money to develop new drugs, they're just inflating the market. A great amount of the R&D comes from universities. It seems like a great way hide shadow money. I doubt 'middle men' are to blame for the pricing. I hope the patent laws get scrutinized.

Republicans have been gutting healthcare for decades at this point, I certainly won't be holding my breath for the most corrupt and incompetent one ever to actually help the average joe for once.

Here's a realistic take on what will happen:

Trump decides to "bail out" some major pharma companies claiming it will help them lower prices, happens to choose a company he has financial ties with. Said company gets millions and doesn't lower prices at all, rinse and repeat. Tis the Republican way since at least nixon and raegan.

Out of all the 2020 candidates I'd say Bernie probably has the best chances of actually lowering drug prices, but most of the major dem candidates are starting to promote universal healthcare and other policies that could help considerably.

Side note, Trump also briefly promoted "legalizing all drugs" while simultaneously praising Duterte for massacring alleged drug users in the Philippines. "I don't stand by anything" - actual trump quote, one of the rare cases he was briefly self aware and told the truth.

the main thing they should really do is re-evaluate the scheduling system. the basis for schedule I classification is completely inaccurate at this point and there's mountains of evidence to support that fact.

Insulin dependent diabetics are at significant risk of death from low blood sugar. Between 5% -10% of diabetics die from a hypoglycemic event. Insulin is a powerful drug and without proper and careful usage, diabetics are at a risk of putting themselves into a hypoglycemic crisis that can result in death. Diabetics will often take insulin right before they eat a meal. If you take a dose appropriate for mealtime and DONT eat almost immediately, you will enter a hypoglycemic state and if the patient doesn’t recognize the situation  he is in, the hypoglycemia can render him incapable of saving himself.

Insulin is 34$ a vial in Ontario.  It's 300$ in the US.
