you're referring to the companies' logistics of its manufacture, that's where the extra cost comes from. insulin itself doesn't need to be developed any further, it's already insulin lol. unless they're trying to develop a more efficient or streamlined application of the therapy with a new different substance.

if a company decides to go with a less economical route of synthesis/production for it the costs roll onto the patients, and ofc these aspects can be manipulated for sole purpose of boosting the profit margin.

Its incredibly simple it just depends on the space they have for bioreactors

This is one of those things where its way cheaper for the public to subsidize, even the r&d, instead of people paying a premium upfront. Theyre like used car salesmen.

There's a lot less innovation in pharmaceuticals than there is awful business tactics.

What those cartels do is awful.  If a person actually understands drugs and a bit about biology, there really isn't a lot of innovation coming out.  Wars drive innovation in science more than peace.

A drug labeled as this or that isn't all that much different than drugs in the same category.  Trust me, if they were coming out with an innovative drug...it'd be it's own classification.

They do a lot of shit to screw over others.

well whatever I think we need comprehensive reform and regulations some people need to go to jail like top people  to let em know to fix this shit. were seeing alot of shit come down the pipes now. we dont need to fucking dismantle everything or cut anyones heads off or anything else. Recently there is a class action lawsuit against a pharmi co.  They withheld a safe drug for after a patient ran out on a very unsafe drug.  The drugs were for HIV patients.  Side effects of the unsafe drug included kidney failure, so yes people died.

The pharmi companies typically find a drug in nature and modify the chemical composition.  Entirely for patient purposes, so they can make to the tune of billions.

They also create new versions of very old drugs and get patients, for very little actual difference in the drugs. They don't charge a little more for these tactics.  They charge a lot, 1000's of % more.  They also manipulate markets and prices at the cost of patients, sometimes patients lives all to get more money.

They hide side effects and dangers of their drugs.  Creating not only unsafe drugs, but culture that becomes delusional as to what drugs actual do or are 'for'.  Not only among patients, but also among doctors and scholars/researchers.

for everyone complaining insulin is too expensive just fast, type 1 diabetics can fast for 23 hours and eat a low carb meal and they dont need to take any long acting insulin and very small amounts of the short acting insulin

type 2 diabetics can fast for days if they want and take no insulin and their type 2 diabetes will reverse in like a month

fasting is magic

so there needs to be more oversight. they created molecules from natural things so u dont have to eat a pound of jungle leaves like the dark ages but instead have a very precise very effective pill or what have you. ur at best misrepresenting things or talking about things that are flat out illegal
