Nah they didn't show any green stains, they bruised that classical bright inky blue.

Nice. The sterile patch I visit has an inky aqua/teal colour. Still work well though.

Will be interesting to see if their clones drop spores. . . Guess I'll know in 18 mth's or so. . .

Found some subs on the way home.

Thanks Dunedinite, these were found at new location I scoped out on Google maps. I suspect these are very common in the native bush surrounding Dunedin. Follow the creeks to get into the bush and cut in when the contour allows. Utilise Trappers tracks or goat tracks that allow you to cover ground quickly. Look for clearings created by fallen trees and inspect any very rotten wood, make sure to check all around any logs on top and underneath. Don't be discouraged if there are other mushrooms fruiting, they seem to like and fuit from the same logs as Galerina species and Turkey tail like polypores.

If you do decide to go bushbashing tell someone the rough location you intend to hunt and take some warm clothes just incase you get a bit lost or have a fall. After a few close calls I take a GPS and a PLB if I intend to spend a while out there

Just found my first patch yesterday, found another today. Seems like after looking for ages they just keep popping up.



A shitty question, but I've got these sitting drying in a poorly made desiccator in a forest near me so I'm not able to weigh them as of currently. Could anyone more experienced give me a rough estimate?

Please dont dry them in this method.. itll be a waste. Buy a dehydrator or chuck em ontop of the hot water heater

A small patch of pins i've been dutifully/desperately tending to every day this week while it there wasn't any rain, check out the tiny little ones growing out of the larger one. The larger one is actually relatively tiny itself. 




Then today after a good full day of rain on Sunday after a full week of dry weather, i decided to pull an all day hunt and hit all my spots and check out a few new potentials. It was a slog of a day, no patches, only singles, 2's and 3's but i ended up with a nice little haul as reward for the hard work. (for my standards)
