Hahaha I remember that. Hey at least it wasn't totally bogus.

Anyone use spawn mate products at all on cubes? I never got around to messing with any.

I seen some cool side by side compares using isolated Cubes with it back in the day. Some of the product lines are time released/delayed. Seen 5+ flushes with the crap. It works, the real question is, is it worth the money...

100% coir and oat grain spawn routinely pushes 5 flushes for me

and sometimes I get a trash flush too



they're pretty hard to fuck up or kill

LC recipe doesn't need to be fancy. Plain malt extract and water will get you all the performance in the world :shrug:

I have a tub and 5 shoeboxes on flush #6 with WBS on CCVG, still pushing up healthy fruits. Consistent conditions, care and mycelium health are far more important than any additives. I add 5% coffee grounds for nitrogen and 5% gypsum for water retention and calcium, I spend about $3 total to spawn 8 quarts of grain. A $14 bag of gypsum is basically a lifetime supply, coffee is a household staple and you're recycling trash. I'll take the Folgers test against this fast blast or promycel gold 7 days a week, if any difference is measurable in hours does it count?

The goal of the post was to set the story straight of what the "Magic additive" really was. Sorry if it struck a nerve. Is amycel the best additives in the world, no I am sure there are teks here to blow it away.
And it's sure the hell not cost effective.

In a way it was a reasonable thing to do. You can't just buy spawn mate as a consumer, I'm pretty sure you have to buy several big-ass sacks from a wholesale distributor and only sell to real businesses. Or at least back then that was the case I remember thinking about buying some way back when.

Yeah, I still don't know how they got it. For-sure they was not ripping people off. It did increase yield. Those who have actually played around with it know. I just didn't want to come off as it's was the best in the world. People are defensive about their teks I get that.

No they don't, but they sure the hell was fun to experiment around with.
So ME LC is your go to for cubes? I really have missed the LC porn please share!
