Pluteus velutinornatus id Dunedin New Zealand

Think I have two different Pluteus species here, hopefully one is Pluteus velutinornatus

Hey everyone, went on a walk a few weeks back and found this very pretty mushroom growing on a log by a stream. Looks a lot like Pluteus Velutinornatus. Unfortunately I didn't pick it as I didn't know about them at the time (Now it's long gone), would anyone be able to ID it for me? Found in Wellington region, NZ.

(Apologies for the blurry pic, wish it was better/I'd taken more)

On the topic of Pluteus Velutinornatus, what's the status of them in New Zealand? Edible, inedible, active, nonactive? Info on them seems unclear/mixed. Would really appreciate some help.

Thanks!

Yes. Pluteus velutinornatus. Considered active.

This is the post that sparked my curiosity. However they look different to Pluteus velutinornatus I have found before

I'm uncertain, but I think there may be two very similar species. Pluteus Velutinornatus and Pluteus Perroseus.

Check out these pages:

Pluteus Velutinornatus:

Pluteus Perroseus:

I wish there was some more clear info about these mushrooms, I find them intriguing..

Yeah, I think both our finds are Pluteus perroseus. I have found blue brusing Pluteus velutinornatus before, apart from the velvety cap they are very different, Pluteus velutinornatus stems are grey and shiny Plutues perroseus stems are white/reddish.

I want to know if anyone has bio asaayed Pluteus velutinornatus
