Spore Print while Fruiting
    #25917362 -

After a good month, my babies are finally fruiting! I have read some stuff about how mushrooms drop spores shortly after the veil breaking until they wither away. How true is this? Do fruits drop spores for days? Or just a few hours?

Depends on the species of mushrooms. In general most do it for about a day

From my knowledge this question has been answered many times on the forums lol

Yes its true they drop spores for around a day or two, Two days are pushing it though  lol. They're teks on how to make clean spore prints just search spore print tek, or clean print tek in the search bar you'll find it.

My reason for asking was if they drop for days, then cutting the top off and taking a print would miss a good amount of spores and keeping the fruit alive and taking a print would maximize the amount of spores you get. But it doesn't sounds like they drop spores lond enough for that to be beneficial.

I would just play it safe and as soon as the veil breaks and you start to see some black on the tops of your other fruits go ahead and make some prints, just to be on the safe side. Personally Ive never waited more than two days after seeing my fruits dropping spores, but I would figure it would still work

Have you ever had that feeling where you're like, "hmmm, I should probably chime in to help this guy out, but I want to see how this escalates..."

An hour on a piece of foil and you literally have more spores than you could use in an entire lifetime. Don't worry about missing out on some spores. There's tens of millions on a print

I know, but I figure you might miss a lot of mutations that come with older age of the cells. Maximize the amount of spores, weird and cool mutations possibly, maybe get a super dope spore print as the cap moves, grows, and wiggles. I might try it out.

Well, I'm going to try and get a print while my mushy is growing. If it works well, I'll draw up a tek. Fingers crossed.

Well, if your wanting to copy genetics like mutations, etc. You would want to clone the tissue, not from spore print since the spores will be varied in genetics
