Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
- it was growing in dung possibly kangaroo dung on a walking track. With leaf mater on top.

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
- Light brown

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
- 1cm to 3cm length
- 0.5cm to 1cm diameter
- whitey-brown with a tinge of purple
- solid stem possibly hollow
- thick 
- shinny

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
- 0.5cm to 5cm diameter
- light brown darker brown at top
- does not have a nipple top

Spore print color:
Very important!
- spore print has been for 3 hours starting to look dark brown/purple

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
- Deep Purple

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.
- river smell, dirt, muddy

I have never seen this mushroom.

When I picked it, it turned purple in the areas where I damaged it.

The purple ones tend to be edible, the toxic ones are more highly colored or have yellow caps with an abruptly marginate bulb.

I don't recommend anyone just starting out to eat any cortinarius species, there are to many nasties and a novice doesn't know what to look for and I don't want the responsibility of someone being poisoned accidentally, to many folks out there will assume that all purple cortinarius are safe and that's not what you said, but they will take it that way.

I will change the way I post about them instead of the general label of toxic to deadly.
