I totally think i have one already! This might be the tek to go with seeing how little spawn ill have. Im probaby going to g2g one and only do 3 as well. Or maybe not just print it later

Thanks for the info guys idk what i would do without you all :smile: Ive got 6more 16oz jars of wbs colonizing a bit behind these ones so if all goes well ill have no reason to not keep doing shoe boxes they seem really cool and mono tubs are intimidating. Putting all the marbles into one basket is something my grandma advised me against 😂

If you can do pftek, you can do shoeboxes and monos. What i love is that its not EXACT science. It works in ranges. For example, if your tub is kinda dry or kinda wet, you get some bateria, you can still get fruits. Im not not saying to neglect your grow. Surface conditions are very important. I have left a tub cuz it had some bateria, and said fuck that tub. Fucker still gave me some fruits! Its hard to fuck up a tub, if you have clean spawn. But dialing in your tub and environment will give more success.

I certainly like the easy presentation by this option 🤔 No vermiculite or gypsum or anything will moisture be good eith just coco at noob field capacity? Do i cook the coco?Just coco spawn colonize tub mist an fan? Considerable option here seeing as shoeboxes might not yield as much? Or is this false? And id need more than 1 shoebox for 4 16oz jars of spawn... right? Total noobie here obviously but willing to learn!!

Idk lol might be a mistake for your 1st grow,2 quarts spawn to 7 litres (8quarts) of coir is a 1-4 ratio. I personally wouldn't chance it,unless you have some other jars going so you don't mind trying it out.

4 one qt spawn shoeboxes could very well get you a yield as good as a monotub with 4qts spawn.  Also consider also the benefit of not putting all your eggs in one basket in case one of your grain jars has a hidden nasty. As long as your grow has okay genes and the substrate is at field capacity you should be able to get a nice lil yield off either approach

The shoeboxes seem to be the most noob friendly to me yeah i think ill end up doing separate tubs. Again mono and the geandma thing 😂 Its worth a bit of extra fanning and misting and tub looking

If u haven't done shoeboxes yet start there before jumping into a big tub! They will tech u the grown rules for good conditions. Plus if u get a contam u only lose one shoebox instead of a huge tub. Good luck :super:

When choosing a tub I like the taller options, around 40cm. That allows for good air exchange, and gives space for the mushrooms to grow.

Luckily im growing pe6 so they will be shorties anyway :smile: but will keep this in mind for the future thanks!

Edit: Well maybe not shorties but shorter than others i think. These google images are looking pretty diverse

It will still give more air exchange.
From what I've seen, PE usually grows shorter, but not always.
Overall, the lower the FAE, the taller the fruits.

I was watching a video and when his mushrooms were not reaching for the sky's because of their container he simply just wrap plastic around it to make it taller so I'm sure I'll find something if I see them not reaching over the sides. Maybe another shoe box upside down on top? Or maybe even that plastic wrap 💡

If i could find tall shoe boxes i would definitely invest but i dont think so. Might just have to do some modding and make my own tek 😂

I just bought 4 of those from Ikea. They are quite expensive, but they have a branch right next to my house.

You could make it with shorter ones, just poke bigger holes \ stuff poly more lightly \ keep the lid slightly more open

Shoeboxes work great on there own. U can even keep the lid shut the whole time and they will still get FAE. If ur mushies get too tall (unlikely with pe6) u can always dub tub for a day before harvest if needed.

theres reasons why we put holes in tubs no mod tubs is what people was doing when indoor cultivation started and didnt understand all the details of the tubs enviorment :shrug:
