A little help for SGFC

So i've made 3 brf cakes to test my new home for possible contaminations,  so far so good my cakes seems to be healthy :laugh:

I've made this FC
each side has 5 dryed holes covered with cotton. Each time i mist the sides the cotton gets wet and i started not to like that,so i thought  building  a SGFC would be a great idia
Also to control the idial temperature i use underneath of my FC a heat pad with some spacers between the pad and the plastic conteiner.If i build the original SGFC can i use the heat pad too ? or is it a bad idia ? :S

Generally heating pads do more harm than good. The increased temps will help your mycelium grow but you'll be increasing your risk of contamination ten fold.

My thermometer is steady on 23C i think that FC i built its not good at all
So i've just made a SGFC The problem is if i manage to controle the temp at least 22-25C will i have problems due the holes from the bottom  ????????
btw i will change my cakes from the FC with the cotton to SGFC it will be a problem ?

its not properly built. link in my sig has the correct sgfc build.

Once you move them to a proper chamber itll be smooth sailing

after transfering cakes it wont be a problem with the heater underneath the tube right

you shouldn't have a heat tube/pad near your chamber at all.

if its cold in the room, put a small heater in the room and bring the temp to 65-75 degrees. anywhere in that range is fine.

Looks more like an attempt at a HC/SGFC hybrid.

Either u prop the lid like a Humidity Chamber or drill holes on the bottom like the SGFC.

Directions for fruiting Chambers like the sgfc specifically say to not use heating pads

I’m in kinda the same boat as you man and one thing I learned was to “heat the room not the chamber”.. also don’t make your own modifications.. Good luck to you, I Hope everything works out for you!
