Very dark colored shrooms and some shiny heads

I had another tub start fruiting, with side pins galore as usual.  Got a couple bad looking ones and would like an opinion.

Side pins are due to better conditions than at the surface layer..it looks bone dry in there? You need to mist as its evaporation that promotes pins

The black ones are just aborts, nothing unusual, but points to poor conditions

I am really struggling with top conditions.  I spray 4-5 times a day, although in the picture you see it had gone about 6-8 hours without a mist (was at work).  I use an unmodified monotub, but wonder if maybe a regular one would be better.

Not sure, hows the moisture content of your sub when you spawn it?

For this tub it was definitely on the wetter side.  I follow spitballjedi's guide for CVG which is pretty much the standard recipt, 4-4.5 q of water.  This batch was on the wetter side as I have been trying to fix my surface condition problem for awhile.  I remember I was able to squeeze a slight amount of water out of the CVG after cooking it.  I have even kept my lid shut on the tubs for 6-8 hours somedays to hopefully build humidity levels.  Guess back to the drawing board...

I’m having the same issue with my unbodified tubs. I just bought a humidifier which will hopefully help. I’m thinking my grow room is too dry

Humidifiers really aren't needed..just use your eyes and check when it looks dry and give it a mist..that's as complex as it needs to be

How’s your lid sitting on the tub?  I’m thinking your just loosing too much water because its evaporating out.  I have only used standard tubs, but plan on doing and unmodified once I have some more spawn that’s ready.  Thanks for sharing.  And back to the intent of your post the fruits look fine, other than being dry.  I don’t think it’s a comtamn issue at all, just Environmental.

Honestly, I like regular monos more than the unmodified.  No need to dick around with lids, just set and forget. 

I agree with everyone else, it looks bone dry in there.
