Re: How can we solve wealth disparity without socialism? [Re: RJ Tubs 202]

It's a quote dude. How can it possibly be true for all of humanity.

Narcissists and psychopaths want wealth and power. Look at the Trump.

I find the quote humorous - not necessarily serious, or true for all of humanity.

But seriously, we assume when narcissists and psychopaths obtain wealth and power, this makes them happy. But do these things really make then happy? A heroin junkie may claim smack makes them happy, but does it really bring happiness? I've never seen someone nodding off who appeared to be experiencing happiness. Same with narcissists and psychopaths.

Yes, heroin makes heroinists happy. That's why they chase the dragon.

What you chase makes you happy.

Surely, there COULD be things that makes you more happy, maybe things you don't know. I agree on that.

Hey, nice philosophical dialogue we've got going here, brother.

Happiness is subjective.....but in the Stoicism(like)line of thinking, happiness is good for one and those that surround him/her.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Happy literaly means having good fortune.  Like, that's what the word "happy" actually means if you dig up the etymology thereof.

I don't know, I have had some pretty happy times that turned into nightmares.

I also had a relative that was truly happy, only when miserable.

Can’t believe OP wants to use big government to over regulate the free market. Don’t you know even acknowledging wealth disparity is a Soviet tactic? Of course 3 people have more wealth than half of the country. That’s capitalism working just as God intended. Not sure why you hate America so much, but it is troubling.

Can you name a better functioning economic system than capitalism?

Social democracy.

Can you give an example of a social democracy that you feel has worked well?

I wouldn't buy any apple product or a Rolex. I'll take an R8.

What was the name of your old account here?
