If it was different at a molecular level then it wouldn't be LSD...so that's bullshit. Any impurities are inactive...so that's bullshit. Molecules don't magically pick up on vibrations or hocus pocus...so that's bullshit. You don't become hyper-sensitive to different nonsense 'vibrational frequencies' of different LSD molecules...so that's bullshit.

I wish this argument would die.

Just because you're incapable of logical and intelligent critical analysis of your trips doesn't actually mean there are genuine differences between batches of LSD other than the dose on the blotter.

Your psychology will be infinitely variable from trip to trip. Consequently you can expect infinite variability from trip to trip.

Why are so many new-age, misguided people drawn to psychedelics?? Like flies to shit!

Slow down mister scientist lol. Impurities are inactive? If you mean isomers of LSD are inactive yeah but metabolites and derivatives have been researched and published decades ago.

link

I'm not saying my hypothesis is fact, but it is not bullshit, although I think set and setting and placebo effect are the culprit here.

Metabolites and derivatives are not LSD. Any actives that form through degradation are going to be in tiny amounts and there will not be enough present to have an effect/change the trip. Derivatives would need to be consciously and deliberately synthesised. They wouldn't be created as an accidental byproduct of LSD synthesis. So they're not going to be present on your blotter of LSD, and they're not going to change the trajectory of the trip.

If they're present on your blotter then you're not consuming LSD.

My points stand.

Yes it stands as it is what you originally answered to. ↓↓↓

Daijo said:
LSD is LSD and all molecule of the same structure and composition are identical and have identical biological effects.

The blotters may contain small amounts of active degradation products and they may differ from batches to batches depending on the reason of degradation.

All LSD is the same, but blotters and impurities vary.

- Captain Obvious

And don't forget I'm not advocating for the derivative & degradation hypothesis, I'm just saying it's not farfetched. Imagine if someone had only acetic acid to produce the acetate salt of LSD for storage, there could be acetyl-LSD effective in the microgram range in an unknown amount. And just so you remember, yes LSD is LSD, I said so as well.

Could also be the difference of set and setting, stomach contents, variety of other factors

I feel like varying dosages plays a big role in how different trips can feel. Let's say you you have 2 sheets of "100mic" (that's the actualy dose dude, my dealer doesnt lie to me!") but only 1 sheet is actually 90, the other is 125. You think the 125 sheet is a strong 100mic, and the actual 90 is weaker so they might not last as long as the other, less visuals to. Also I believe purity of the L comes into play at higher doses. Some feels "cleaner" to me, less bodyload on comeup. I have access to differents kinds of L and dosages and I've experimented with them all. Some has a harder come up, that's what I judge acid on. Some acid like I said feels clean or more pure to me and has almost no uneasy axious nauseous feeling. You literally eat the tab, feel great and all of sudden your tripping. On some batches I have, I get a little nausea on the come up and feel that axious weird feeling then, im peaking and feel amazing :trippinballs:. These feelings are consistant with my experiences.

I'd say it is mostly caused by set and setting and suggestion/auto-suggestion as stomach contents vary the same for two different LSD batches.

I just mean if he ate one tab on a full stomach and the other on an empty, come up and duration would be affected

Tabs are tabs. You can take them orally or sublingually

:whathesaid:

I rinse my mouth with distilled or reverse osmosis water, then maintain the tab under the tongue. Only after it disintegrates into a papery goo do I chew and swallow.

That's a perfect example of some dumb bullshit. Leary is like reading cancer. Happy for what he's done but not happy about pseudoscience crap

Next experiment, hybrid trips.

Take half a hit of one batch and half a hit of another batch and document what happens.

Need to have people that expect a difference and people that don't be part of the study to rule out placebo type expected effects

It's not an uncommon belief though somehow. Lot's of people believe in "vibes" hey.

I was staunchly in the camp for many years that LSD is LSD is LSD, an that's that. But somehow I seemed to notice patterns with my stash, that some acid consistently gave more specific effects than others. I don't claim to know why, but it seems apparent.

If you start drinking from a bottle of Sprite or 7up thinking it's really Sprite or &up but it's only water, I swear the first thing you will taste is what YOU EXPECT. Then, you realize there's something weird and then you realize it's water :P

Same thing for LSD, you expect something from a batch and not from another.

Set and setting. Still stands.

Meh maybe, I've been doing acid a long time. It's more been a realisation without even thinking about it. Particularly some batches that seem noticeably more visual.

I'm not saying it's not all in my mind, but it seems apparent, which is why I think there are some inherent properties. I certainly don't go picking horses for courses though, it is just acid after all.

You have that Bear avatar but no faith. Owsley did channeling of his energy to the product. And for sure was better cook than anyone posting in this thread.

I don't have faith in hippies channeling energy to change transmute physical objects. Like Jesus!
