We frequently find the present moment uncomfortable and often create stress by wanting time to "pass" as we yearn for some future moment, when we will be content and satisfied. We wait for the day to end. We wait for the week to end. We wait for vacation. We wait in line at the grocery store. We wait in traffic.

If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that there ain't really any goddamn hurry.

Feeling "busy" is an anxious state of mind related the inability and or unwillingness to be present in the moment.

my experience of time is as a sequence of presences, some of which extend, and others flutter.

So instances in time are prone to adaptation or otherwise evolution..

Memetics..

Or otherwise survival of the fittest.. things that carry on are worthy.. things that disipate are not?

At least with our acting consciousness.

newsflash son, our time here is short.  we are only here for a blink of an eye, in the perspective of time.  so dont just do something, stand there.

not at all:
what seems to persist in mind has associative regeneration, it is actually not persisting but restarting  and resonating - perception/memory reactivates the mental object(s).
eventually the afterglow dissolves the mental form.
all things arise and fade, but the miracle of memory lets them live again, if only for a few moments.

this is not analogous to genetics, or evolution.
the idea of meme is not one I am that fond of except as the core idea behind the human activity known as gossip.

I was talking about the difference between what we consciously focus on(which is partially based on choice) vs the things that get relegated to memory or lower conscious focus..

I think we have about 50% choice.. and then the other 50% is based on cause and effect which would essentially surmise this argument..

I tend to believe mind generates embers and our focus determines if the messages become wildfires.

The concept of positive feedback may apply here. Our focus can amplify the original impression.

I'm fascinated by the storytelling nature of mind. I don't recall events, but my narrative about what happened.

Dad is that you?

I do agree that if you have dreams, better to try than let the time pass by. Then again, sometimes people need to loose themselves and wander to find something better.

The context of the OP was specific... sorry if I wasn't more clear but I did try to clear it up in subsequent posts. I think most everyone feels like they're in over their head sometimes. I also think anxiety is a form of energy that can be redirected into something more productive... but when there's no control to be found, better to take the time to slow down and be patient with one's self until that switch occurs.

the elemental Alien Constants: Velocity, Force, Acceleration,  Momentum,  they represent a due course of action in Bullets, as well as [Alien Elements] (ie, Xeno-properties, or, "Other").
the fifth element is an obfuscated one that I can seemingly only define as 'Movement'.

i'm curiouser to know more about this 'Movement.'

the 'Movement' can be said to be an autonomous phenomenon of "the Other" or "Outside" as encountered either at the ethnosocial level, or individual level.
