Does anyone?  I don’t have the answers but I feel like the purpose of life is would be to grow your soul/grow as a person if there’s any purpose.  And the most meaningful things in life are helping others, and ones ability to love beyond fear of getting hurt or failure.  The world would be a better place if people weren’t focused on themselves and only themselves.  Nothing is more attractive to me than good people who are honorable, endure, love fearlessly and can be giving/compassionate with nothing in return when no one is looking.

Nihilism is great and all but I'll never understand the modern obsession with it.

And without purpose there's no reason to go through any amount of suffering for a greater end. Are you just constantly on hedonistic autopilot? I find when that's the case with me, I don't even bother to get out of bed.

I put "did" because I don't think you can adequately answer the question unless you've already found an answer and a lot of people haven't. Also I suppose it's a bit about me. It's just something I've been grappling with lately since my friend asked and I didn't have an answer myself.

But how are you supposed to "just do your job" if you don't know what your job is? That's the problem with half of Eastern philosophy. It boils down to "just go with the flow" or wu wei which is bullshit if the flow is created within. Again, when that's the case for me I don't even bother to get out of bed. Is my job, then, to kill myself?

It always gives me the impression that a substantial part of it was created just to keep their population docile and subservient. It's double bind after double bind after double bind until you ultimately arrive where you started or completely give up and go live in a cave.

They explain that with the rest of the stuff. Isolating individual ideas that are intended to be part of a larger concept is an easy way to discredit something. A pyramid is just a pile of rocks.

OP Id say I've found this meaning and purpose in life and work. No way of explaining how though, my almost 30 year long chain of experiences is an anomaly of reality unlike any other to ever exist

Why does it HAVE to mean something?  Why is "meaningless" seen as a negative?

Why am I perceived as depressed or negative for not expecting things out of life?

If I smile, wear orange robes, and shave my head...  people would call me enlightened for saying the same things.
