Any drummers in the house? Collaboration? * 1
    #25535407 -

Hey all.  So I want to preface this by saying that while I'm not the most active member on this particular board, I have been writing, recording and sharing my music here since about 2002. I've had a couple collaborations back in the day with people far greater than my talent lol (in the days where I'd have a guitar instrumental recorded through a Yahoo chat mic and no metronome/proper timing

Anyway, 15 years later, I currently use Reaper and my mustang 4 amp for recording

I normally build my own drums via fruity loops(one cymbal, kick, etc at a time)...and just recently started the learning curve of using addictive drums 2.

That being said, I'm not a drummer at the end of the day.  And I feel my instrumentals would have a lot more life to them with a good drummer adding his/her. input.

I have a new song in the making that I really want the drums to compliment it

I have only recorded a rough concept/scratch recording (so that I could build the drums to it).  It even has a super rough idea for some lead.  And I will add bass too.  I feel my drum track is finished and restrung my guitar and was planning a couple days soon to do the real recording...but I'm just not that smitten with it(the drums).

Anyway, I'm spewing a lot of words to simply ask....is there anyone interested in collaborating and helping me out? I share my music on soundcloud for friends/family and dont make money or anything like that.  This would be just for funzies.

Because the song is in its early stages, I'm hesitant to post it here publicly at this time, but could send it to you directly if interested.  The lead has some really cool potential and will be so much better after a day of making passes with some whiskey and good herb   I want it to fade out solo style, kinda like comfortably numb does.

It's an acoustic rock "ish" type track.  Very mellow and slower.  It was written from a headspace of camping and relaxing, with sunshine, beer and good herb!

If you are interested, I'll send ya my rough semi completed idea.  If you dig it, give me a couple more weeks to actually record things in a solid manner and I can either A. Send you the complete mix down or send you the individual files and the reaper project.

Hey man! How the heck you've been? Didnt realize you were so close   I have a very good friend down there I visit from time to time, so next time I'm in the area I'll definitely send you a message.

Ok for sure man, I'll PM you my rough scratch idea and see if you dig it.

Like I mentioned, it still has to be properly recorded but my rhythm guitar, the meat and potatoes of the instrumental/song, will be the same more or less.  I put some new strings on the guitar and after a day of recording, it will be much more solid.  From there, a new lead and bass will come into play.

And your drums could dramatically shift what direction I go in with the lead and bass.  And that excites me lol

I'll PM you the rough scratch and then get you the completed file(s) when I'm done properly recording.

Cant thank you enough man.  I think this will be fun and cool as hell.  Thanks for helping me out

P.s.  you will laugh at my current drums
