Isopropyl Alcohol

Hey guys, I have a load of 99% isopropyl alcohol from when I used to work with electronics. If I Mix 7 parts of the IPA to 3 parts water, will this give me 70% IPA or is there more to it than that? Also, will it need to be deionised water? Thank you in advance for any help! :smile:

I do this with tap water, seems to work fine for mycology.

Tap water is fine to use, and you flame sterilise tools, alcohol can be used to wipe surfaces down etc

You add 300mL of distilled water to 1000mL of 91% you get 1300mL of 70%


C1V1=C2V2 where c= concentration and v= volume

99%*7parts=X%*10parts(3+7)
X= 69.3%
