Isopropyl Rubing Aolchol as a Cleaner

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here knew how well isopropyl worked as a cleaner. I've been using it and I think its been working well for me, a little bit goes a long way and its cheep, but I'm really not sure how much its actually doing, I've never used anything elce.

It works fairly well as a sanitizer, on slick / smooth surfaces.

I've found it to be EXTREMELY effective at sanitising pretty much everything - jars, syringe needles, workbenches and so on. Bear in mind that regular rubbing alcohol from the shops is usually only about 60-80% isopropyl alcohol. If you wanna be really hardcore, your pharmacist should be able to get you (a limited amount of) 99.8% stuff. We got about 200ml for less than 10 dollars (Australian) and have barely used a quarter of it in the last year!

yep, i keep a spray bottle of it around, i even rinse my hands with it before i do sensitive work

In canada I pay like 1.50 for a bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol. It is available at walmart and zellers. You dont need to hit a pharmacy to get it.
