Can the new thread button be made a little more visible? * 3

Instead of the very inconspicuous "Post" like it is now, would it be possible for it to say something like "New thread"? Just so it would make it a bit easier for people who are new to the forum to find. In mushroom hunting forum people complain almost on a daily basis that they can't make a new thread, and then post in somebody else's thread with their ID request.

Great suggestion. If anyone browsers active journals, it doesn't take long to realise that some new members have a lot of difficulty starting new threads and end up posting their request for help in their journals by mistake as well.
Just took a quick look and there's currently two threads there right now seeking help.
First Try
Does anybody have experience with Viagrow coco coir

I don't know whether making 'post' to 'new thread' is the answer, but it seems like a good start to addressing an issue that's been going on for some time now.

Yeah, that might not be the best option, but it's still a lot more suggestive than simply "post", and most other forums have something similar, so it might be easier for noobs to adapt. A big flashy button would be best, but it would probably require more work and would change the interface. But as you rightly said, it's a big problem now, especially in MH&I, where dozens of new people register daily so they could post their ID request.

This is still a problem, it is still happening daily.
Here it happened two times in the same thread:

For the one thing, it derails the thread of the person who started it, and it also prevents the people who hijacked the thread from getting an accurate and detailed identification.

Can anything be done?

Agreed, I suggested it since I was a wee lil mod - to make the post button more prominent and inviting.

It is barely visible right now, and in a place where you wouldn't look for it, among navigation options. It would really help people who are new to the site if it was more prominent and inviting. In most other forums it's exactly that, so many assume that they can't make new threads because they are new to the site for some reason.

Thanks. I just realized it is only there in the getting started section. Maybe other sections but it seems my account is still pretty restricted. Do you know what post count or period of time allows me to post more freely?
