Lithops soil advice?

Finally have a littke lithop coming in soon. Anyone grow them? What's a good soil mix to use?

Mineral soil with a little clayey material in it. Water lightly only when the plants are deflated. Probably best to plant them and let them be until next spring, water can be resumed when this year's leaves are dry and papery. If a spell of really warm weather hits you until then, spray the plants.

I don´t know much about Lithops, not my speciality, just have a couple.  But my L. verruculosa has done well in a shallow terracotta tray (the roots are not deep) of mostly grit with a bit of commercial potting compost (mainly peat).  When the old ´leaves´ are drying and this year´s replacements are forming, do not water them.  Here it is part way through flowering.

Wow that's zamazing. I have a few but nothing that size. Most of them have all their new leaves now. I have them in sunny windowsill atm and they seem happy I will be re-potting some of mine soon so thanks for the tips.

Hey everyone, just wanted to post a split pic. Its started opening up a few weeks ago and looks like it has a ways to go. I havent watered it myself but it mightve gotten either some stray rain or a bit more than that, about one or two times. Nothing from the top of the pot i want to say.
. And this is only suspicion that it happened. Dunno. Hopefully it finishes up and maybe even blooms for me :awesome:

If the new leaves have trouble coming through you can use a razor to cut the old leaves away. It's looking fine for now.
