lithop, freakishly neat!
    #2766891 - 06/05/04 08:54 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I was at the cactus show today in Vancouver. They had some very nice specimens. One i though looked so alein, something you would see on star wars or something weird.
http://www.lithop.supanet.com/
I bought
lithop dinteri
lithop helmuti
lithop otzeniana
lithop grand(assortment)says seeds from England.

and some others I bought were
aloe reitzii
lobivia boliviensis
lobivia buckebergi

I got a really good deal on all this. I got a good hookup with the desert plant society. They have some awesome stuff. Couple huge lophora, I would say 20 years +.

Anyway, if you haven't ever saw the lithop, take a quick look. Its very interesting.

Lithops (living rocks/living stones) totally kick ass. I have several I bought from cactus fairs too!!

My south african source is telling me aobut a lithop (different genus though) that has actions similiar to and stronger than sceleitum!!! I will try to get the latin name and report bcak to you.

I think to think of them as looking like vaginas. Here's one of mine in flower. This was taken in September of last year.

Mine went mushy! So easy to over-care for Lithops.
