No matter how small of a grow you made your kids will eventually find it. I remember finding all sorts of things around the house as a kid. So that is a pretty big risk if your kids find it and consume even the smallest amount of mushrooms or pins will still hurt the developing brain. Especially if young.

So I'd never want them to consume any, but can you back up that claim?

the fack that mushrooms are not child proof and no matter what, if there is mushrooms there is the chance of consumption no matter what.

I meant that there's any proof mushrooms hurt a developing brain.

I doubt a regular dose would have any negative consequences assuming they didn’t hurt themselves during the trip.  Where cacti is consumed the kids 11, 12 years old take part so I’m sure it happens in Oaxaca and other places.  I’d be more worried about risk of hurting themselves and the shock.

When I was in seventh grade there was a kid whose dad grew and everyone knew about it.  When kids know things they talk.  I don’t know about you but having that over my head would keep me from sleeping again and the anxiety would be through the roof.

Still, would you really want your child possibly tripping at all? If I had kids, I'd be afraid they'd find my stash let alone a full on grow shrooms or bud or cactus. I would not advise it because they always find out, we always knew who's parents grew.

My concern is if they happened to trip if there's actually be medical concerns which I don't believe there are. The difference between growing poppy or mushrooms

Definately not.  I think a mind should be what could be considered fully developed before someone goes and starts changing things around if you know what I mean.

The method of action for mushrooms actually slows down certain parts of the brain. In an underdeveloped brain, it leaves a more limited “canvas” if you will, for the drug to take effect. Which means it’s more vulnerable. You’ve played Jenga right? You atleast know what it is. The tower game with the blocks. An adult is a perfectly set up Jenga tower. A child is one sloppy tower. You can win with a sloppy tower, but your chances of winning however, are lower.

I’m not sure that’s a very accurate comparison.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Heaven forbid a child eats shrooms accidentally, but I don't think there's any literature out there to support it hurts the brain developed or developing.

Considering psilocybin mushrooms have been proven to support neurogenesis it may be quite the contrary in all actuality.

Back in high school there was a kid who was really stupid. Like looks like he could have a mental disorder except that he smoked weed. So he kinda looked stoned all the time and he got a lot of shit all the time. Well one day I happened to be chillin at a smoke spot and he had showed up by chance and was surprised after I got to talk to him. He said his parents let him eat shrooms when he was young [5-6] and he said his brain melted from that. Then after that he started smoking weed. Needless to say if some one who claims their fry'ed brain was cooked off at a young age due to eating shrooms, I'll probably take their word on it as well as it still is comen sense that a developing brain should not have any drugs that could possibly interfear with a child's brain growth.

Well considering his parents let him, there could be other factors like rearing and environment even on down to genetic that had him a little dull.  It doesn’t sound like he was the most motivated fellow either but I don’t know him so I’ll just leave it as comparable to how much water the excuse fat people fall back on when they claim it’s their genetics that have them packing on the weight.  Genetics from non food deprived countries and locations.

Funny, in jr. high school I had the exact oppisite experience. My friends brother was mentally retarted (on the spectrum) but we allowed him to eat 2 gs a day.

At first it was crazy and the teachers had one hell of a time but within a year he no longer qualified to be on the spectrum.

So I'm also skeptical of this story, but far less than the previous. Not calling you a liar, but that there could be so many factors... different tests, different doctors, etc. There is evidence to support this story, and no evidence that I've seen to support the idea that psilocybin is harmful.

If you want your children to trip balls then that's your decision but I'll be fine keeping my children from tripping because a developing brain at a young age isn't designed to have that kind of chemicals in there. When they are 18 they can do what they want. But in my eyes kids shouldn't trip.
