Oracles Thread
    #24757233 -

I was looking through the forums and I see a smattering of old tarot posts, etc., but nothing like a solid discussion thread on the nature of oracles from a psychological/skeptical approach. So, I thought it might be neat to open up a space to share thoughts, rituals, readings, etc.

Personally, I've been working with the Tarot since I was 12 (runs in the family) and the Book of Changes for a few years now, and I find the subject of oracles, particularly fortune telling and it's correlation to the psychology of the unconscious, fucking fascinating.

So if there's enough people who want to discuss, let's open it up.

I guess this is relevant.  I am no Oracle but I think ever since I was a little kid I have had a certain ability to discern people.  Even as a kid I could look at someone and just kind of Know if they were good or bad. My "dad" told me I had a "spirit of discernment" and I never really knew what he meant until I was older.

Now, in my adult life I am pretty spiritually intuned I think to people and can tell their motives.  Or sometimes I just know things,  like a guy I work with who at the time I wasn't THAT close withs' girlfriend became pregnant. I told him he was having a boy, I knew because I looked at him one day and saw a vision of him holding his sons' hand and walking through our work.  This was before they announced she was pregnant.  Also, before they told anybody I saw the gf and just KNEW she was pregnant. It was just a feeling I got at the time!!!  I was just then becoming friends with these people, did not even know them THAT WELL.

So I don't know, its kinda strange!  I wouldn't call myself an oracle though, just get certain "feelings" sometimes.
