Sometimes people agree with Thor just to suck up.  But, there are others who realize that even though many have had their hands at the helm of this ship Thor and 3D are the most responsible for the Shroomery existing today.

Subtract either of those men and the Shroomery wouldn't be here.

This is my opinion and notice that I was the first one in this thread to present an opposing view.  Thor and I amd 3D and I have had disagreements in the past but both of them have my deepest respect.

Okay... one very small point to make out, and while I'm not a mod, or an admin here, I'm an AOp in the Shroomery's OBC (original bastard child), #shroomery... all the time, I get people complaining about being banned for silly things like saying "hay ware kan i by sum shromes and hwo muhc wil tehy b????" and suchlike... I say "well, we don't allow talk of drug deals in here" and invariably they respond with "u kant ban me 4 dat we got fre spech", but folks, I have a really, really sad realization for you... while we do try to preserve some illusion of free speech and democracy, IRC is not a democracy, no private property is a democracy, and no forum can be a democracy.  These are the people in power, and if you have to, God forbid, show some RESPECT to the people who generally put hours per day into keeping your stupid cruisy internet lives running with some modicum of smoothness.  Would it *REALLY* kill you?  It's not like any of the mods get paid, and the admins aren't exactly raking it in hand over fist, either.  Seeing things like "oh thats not fair we shouldn't have to be nice to the mods/admins" just really gets to me.  Just my .02

Much love, bruddas

Never knowing when you are being adored or feared is the price of power. Is it worth it??

Trust no one. They'll cut your nuts off for fun and trophies.

Just 'cause you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

I don't think this has ever happened. The customer is always right.

Then again this forum is free so therefore these "art of complaining" has more reasoning here.

The motto of the customer is always right is really a 90's thing. I've seen in more and more companies where this kind of thinking has gone the way of bad 80's suits.

More companies are realizing that bowing to all customers is not a sound way to run a business, because those small percentage who abuse this policy take a good chunk of money from a company in compensation and hassle that they create.

And the companies are right. Some customers are just not worth the trouble.

That's been clear even on this site where people have bought pressure cookers, used them and returned them. All the while slamming the stores where they bought them. I know people who have done with clothes they had but a single use for.

People suck. and the people that suck cause higher prices for the rest of us.

I think the mods/admins need to practice what they preach...very little courtesy and respect on their parts. All I see is petty bannings and pointless drama.

I think the mods do a fine job keeping this place positive while conservatively warning and eventually banning those that blatantly cause problems.
