He even managed to find a naughty P. subaeruginosa fruiting in his P. ovoideocystidiata patch and his P. ovoideocystidiata are the same genetics as Awakenings, awesome genetics if you ask me.

Before anyone asks, P. ovoideocystidiata do not occur naturally in NZ, they come from USA and would have been cultivated from spores.
This is also, (I assume), how Bluing has been posting pics of P. cyanescens, I believe those P. cyanescens of Bluings have also been cultivated from spores and he has been being very naughty and planting the P. cyanescens myc in public woodchip gardens, only for them to be getting sprayed with that fucking cancerous blue-dyed poisonous shit and getting pin raped on the regular by some idiot, shit sucks, but what are you going to do?? :frown:

Although, I do not know, I'm not Bluing of course so lets hear facts straight from the horses mouth.
Apparently P. cyanescens do occur in NZ, but who knows though, I have found specimens that resemble P. cyanescens myself but I never took to much attention to them and just assumed they were just a common P. subaeruginosa phenotype.

Yeah you're right, my memory sucks. Nice to see them though and others that have cultivated different species. A good reason not to weed your garden too. Good on him for spreading them round and if fools wreck the spots hopefully they will learn.

I went to check on my flax subs today and their progress is very slow and it must be two weeks since they have pinned. I'll have a look in another 2-3 days. Only expect to find a few elsewhere in gardens now.

not that thats a bad thing. but alot of people seem to take it the wrong way lol

anyways to keep this post relevant i might add that the weather man is playing games with me lately. winter is already on the way out, and it still hasnt even come yet(hawkes bay atleast). my patches have dried up for now even my little vege garden patch is aborting. fingers crossed we get alot of rain this spring. ive heard through the grapevine (not a hawkes bay joke) that some people were getting nice flushes through til september last year. i only have a gram dried saved up. SO SEND SOME RAIN OVER HERE WHOEVER IS HOGGING IT ALL

That may be your opinion, however it is a rather serious crime in many countries and I don't think bluing appreciates being accused of this.
Lets keep it positive and enjoy what others have to share instead of accusing them of being dishonest.

Do any of you NZ hunters venture deep into the NZ wilderness in search of shrooms? I've always wondered with the remote areas in the South Island having arguably the highest annual rainfall in the world, perhaps certain active species are growing in the summer months down there.

Yes but not often. It's not practical to search for wood digesting psilocybe in forests far down south. I've heard only anecdotes of people finding weraroa further south of Christchurch albeit in small quantities. P. subs in forests seem to be introduced incidentally and in niche environments. Same with makarorae, other than that I've not heard of any active species growing naturally in the deep south. Still would be interesting to see what's around Fiordland during Autumn/Spring.

I noticed the stems on thems in the pictures looks a funny colour but it could just be from the recent downpours.. watched these ones since they were pins.

Yeah they don't really look right. They almost look a little ovoid-ish. Mushrooms look more similar to each other they younger they are generally, I know you're smart enough to check they bruise and all that :thumbup:
