Love it. I wish I would've seen this thread when I first started. My fan dried out my sub just like yours but to a more extreme degree because I left it goin the whole flush and just generally messed with the tub way too mich. I saw this just in time to get back in the swing of things. Thankyou for this and your sure did help at least one person!

We put the second monotub in fruiting conditions over the weekend, here is some pics of the development. This tub was done with 5 quarts of water, 650g of coir, 3 quarts of verm, 5 quarts of colonized rye grain, and 1 cup of powered gypsum.

Hey, thank you :smile:

All I do is save a little extra coir/verm/gypsum in the bucket to put on top of the substrate before putting it into incubation for 10 days. You only put enough on top to just cover the grains, like 1/8 inch thick. You can read this on Damion5050 tek, the link is in my original post on page 1. The idea is to leave no exposed grains to reduce the chance of contamination.

The tubs I am using are 66 qt, 18 gallon Sterilite, with very loose shitty fitting lids (that I don't latch). The last tub I prepared, my second tub, I didn't remember to leave some in the bucket and it colonized fine, as you can see in the pics above of my 2nd tub.

Here is an update on my tub. This is my 4th flush. I will probably be tossing the substrate after this flush. I wanted to achieve 13 dried ounces and I will be exceeding that goal - hell my initial goal was a quarter pound. :lmafo:

My 4th flush was harvested over the weekend, it totaled to 331.2 wet grams. I had to leave three shrooms in there cause they were not ready yet, which I estimate to be anywhere from 30-50 wet grams. I will be getting a total dry weight soon but based on my calculations we have harvested a total of 13.5 dry ounces from our first tub. :awedance:

Harvested the last three yesterday with some aborts, they all totaled to 63 wet grams :thumbup:

Hello folks, been awhile :vibin:

I took the substrate out of my first monotub and put it outdoors to see if I could get more fruits. I placed the substrate in a pile of 1 50lb bag of Black Cow (manure) that I picked up at a local department store, along with some organic jiffy-mix seed starter for a casing layer and to mix evenly with the Black Kow. I only put about 1/4" of Black Kow on top of the substrate with Jiffy Mix as a casing layer. I watered the pile for about 3-4 days and started getting lots of mushrooms to fruit but slugs ate them so I cut the substrate in half and put them in Kroger bags and placed them in a different outdoor location. The mycelium started colonizing the Black Kow within days of putting it outdoors.

These Limax Maximus slugs were eating my fruits :crazy2:
If you look closely to the pic I took you can see his eyes at the end of his tentacles, and he is enjoying a snail I stepped on while tripping on my cubes. This dude is just following my footsteps..:lmafo:



Here are some pics of the outdoor progress, yes the 3.5 quarts of spawn is still giving me fruits :lol:

The bag functions as a humidity dome in case your curious, its been rainy here lately so they are loving it, harvested all of these this morning:

I picked fruits all weekend from my outdoor patch :omgz:

Also got my 2nd or 3rd flush from my second tub, it was a nice 493.4 grams :headbang:

Well I harvested a lot of fruits this weekend, both from the outdoor patch and the indoor spot. The total weight for the indoor harvest was 70.26 dried grams, the outdoor harvest was 14 dried grams. I will continue to update this thread as long as my first monotub substrate keeps fruiting. I am weekly amazed at how far 3.5 quarts of spawn can go.

The first tub was introduced to fruiting 3/26/16 and is still fruiting! I took the first tub outdoors around 5/25/16 and it just flushed a half ounce over the weekend, so far outdoors I have gotten over 2 ounces.

I harvested around 14 dried ounces indoors and now 2 ounces outdoors so I have gotten a pound of dried mushrooms from 3.5 quarts of spawn and it's still fruiting!

Harvested 63 dried grams from the second tub this weekend (4th flush), along with the outdoors mushrooms from my first tub pictured below. I updated the OP too so that it's easier to read. So far I have harvested 36.6 dried grams from my first monotub outdoors and it has pins on it now - more pics soon :tongue2:
